Jun. 30th, 2017 08:32 amSo one of the Transformer boards I frequent (well, the only, I guess), someone posted they justified their purchase by only buying new stuff if they had the original toy when I was a kid. So I thought, if I wanted to get modern versions of all the Transformers I had as a kid, what would that entail. I didn't think it was much, but after mentally checking things off in my head, I kept remembering more and more, it was much longer than I expected.
So I ended up looking up the original toyline on the TF wiki and going over the entire list and checking off what on their I had. So for posterity, here's the list: (I'm including the pre-Transformers Diaclone versions I somehow got when I was a kid. The asterisks indicate I currently have a new version, whether official or 3rd party)
Diaclone No.1 Countach LP500S (Red Sunstreaker)*
Diaclone No.5 4WD Hi-Luxe Trailbreaker*
Soundwave*
Buzzsaw*
Laserbeak*
Ravage*
Frenzy*
Quick aside, not sure how I had Frenzy and not Rumble, as I had both Ravage and Laserbeak, and each was packaged with one or the other. Either I did have both, or I might have had the Japanese pre-Transformers Microman version of Frenzy and perhaps Laserbeak and Ravage as well. Since I had the real Soundwave, he came with the real Buzzsaw.
Mirage*
Megatron*
Camshaft
Downshift
Overdrive
Warpath
Bonecrusher*
Hook*
Long Haul*
Mixmaster*
Scavenger*
Scrapper*
Topspin
Twintwist
Shrapnel
Inferno*
Smokescreen*
Astrotrain
Ramjet*
Blaster
Outback
Pipes
Swerve
Tailgate
Wheelie
Ramhorn
Eject
Air Raid
Fireflight
Silverbolt
Skydive
Slingshot
Blast Off (not sure why I randomly had one Combaticon)
Runabout
Runamuck
Octane
Blurr (non-TM)
Hot Rod (non-TM)
Cyclone (Targetmaster vesion)*
Scourge (Targetmaster version)
Ultra Magnus
Metroplex
Spectro
Spyglass
Viewfinder
Rollbar
Wideload
Cutthroat (again, not sure why I had just one of the Terrorcons)
Grotusque
Misfire
Slugslinger
Triggerhappy
Guzzle
Backstreet
Crankcase
Ruckus
Quake
Gunrunner
Free Wheeler
Roadhandler
Swindler
Tailspin
Meltdown
Half-Track
Direct Hit
Powerpunch
Fireshot
Vanquish
Krok
That was a much longer list than expected! Sadly they are all now junked or sitting in my parent's basement somewhere, but most likely the former. One thing that's disappointing was that at the time, I didn't know my Aerialbots (or Blastoff and Cutthroat) could plug into Metroplex. It would've looked goofy, but it would be an interesting option.
