SVU- Heh, someone was trying for a guest Emmy. This was just a weird episode all around, particularly since the case was wrapped up 10 minutes early and the rest of the ep was that intervention for Patricia Arquette's character. It was as off as the ep when Olivia was taking Stabler's pregnant wife to the hospital and they got t-boned by a drunk driver and the last 15 minutes of the ep was dedicated to that. I was hoping because she was so talk-y throughout this ep, that she was pulling a keyser soze thing, and there'd be this point where Liv and Amaro figure out she's been playing them this whole time. I mean, the whole part where she was all, "You heard that?" when she went to confession, its like, well, yeah, that should be no surprise, you let them put a wire on you 24/7 because the were worried the crazy spree killer was going to go after her! So I was thinking she was playing for the crowd or something since she knew they were listening in.

Leverage- Huh, was Reid's mysterious girl always Parker from Leverage? I mean, I knew there was something familiar about the lady on the phone from her voice and what little we saw of her face in the first ep she was in. But I didn't think it was Beth Riesgraf. But once I knew it was her I was thinking, "Oh, that is totally her voice." I suppose it would have to be her this whole time, they wouldn't hire someone for the previous ep even if we don't see them just to do the voice, and then hire on Parker when we finally do get to see her. Well, they sometimes do that between seasons, when they haven't cast the role yet. But this was only a few eps apart. I'm just surprised I didn't recognize her in the initial ep.

Also, what dumb-ass goes to confront a murder suspect all, "Hey you know those clothes I sold you? They were found on a murder victim?" instead of having the police handle it. Even more dumb-ass is when said suspect is all, "You're talking crazy, come inside to my dark, creepy house and let's talk about it!" and the guy actually goes in!

TV commentary:

Vampire Diaries- So to alleviate fan fears that Damon was a devious rapist, once he finds out about the whole sire bond thing, he feels incredibly guilty and immediately goes on a road trip with Stefan to NOLA to find a way to break the bond. So its not like he knew what he was doing to Elena and taking advantage of her.

Despite this, Stefan does get in a few digs about Damon being a selfish a-hole who always thinks of himself, wherein Damon reveals Lexie actually convinced him to do his brother a solid and not gone with him to Egypt during WWII because he would've been a bad influence. Anyways, turns out he actually had another childe named Charlotte back then, who was also sire bonded to him. Which what the frick, I know they try to make it clear that despite the sire bond, Elena's feelings are real (more on that later) it does make it silly that he didn't know he could possibly sire bond Elena if it happened to him once before! Anyways, so back in the day in NOLA, he tried to break this girl of the sire bond since it made her kinda Fatal Attraction-y. He found a witch who claimed she could break it, but he had to kill 12 innocents. Which he did back then (which Lexie used as the evidence that he should stay away from his brother), but the witch flaked on him.

In the present, this ties in with Shane's plans. The daughter of said witch, after initially lying to the brothers, reveals the truth- there is no such sire bond breaking-spell. Her mom just said that to use the death of innocents to power a dark form of magic known as Expression. Which cut to Mystic Falls, wherein Bonnie reveals Shane's methods of getting her magic back involves a method of magic known as Expression. Uh oh! Not that the gang manages to share this info with each other yet.

Oh, and btw, Hayley's deal with Shane was to get him 12 hybrids (none of them Tyler) which is obviously for some powerful nefarious spell, which must be really powerful if it requires 12 hybrids. In exchange she gets into on her birth parents. She almost fails this, as the hybrid from last week, Kim, fights Tyler for control of the pack of freed hybrids, going as far as attacking Bonnie, Caroline, and Elena on their girl's night and almost killing Care Bear. But Tyler her gets her under his thumb by almost ripping her heart out. So now Shane has his hybrids, and Hayley knows about her parents, who are dead. Hayley is pissed at first, but then Shane reveals that even though they're dead, she may be able to see them if his plans come to fruition.

Anyways, on to the heart of the ep, the whole pesky sire bond thing. Caroline is getting digs in on Damon all night when the girls are hanging out, pissing off Elena to no end. And even though Caroline is kinda annoying with her whole stomping all over Delena shit, she does have a right to be pissed at him, given what he did to her first season. And part of her prolly thinks Damon is using Elena the way he used her back then. So after Elena reveals she effed Damon, Caroline spills the beans on their sire bond theory.

It worries Elena at first, but then Tyler reveals it doesn't actually change the way you feel, just how you act on those feelings. So her feelings are true- the witch in New Orleans confirms as much to the Salvatores as well, saying the only reason she did get sire bonded to him was because she already had feelings for him..

So in the end, the witch tells him if he really wants to free these sired girls, he has to set them free, tell them to never think of him and stay out of their lives, so they can move on. He does this to Charlotte, and wants to do the same with Elena. But when he tries with her, he goes on and on about how he's the selfish brother, the bad one, but despite that, he has to fight his rep and do right by her. Unfortunately, unlike Charlotte, he actually loves Elena, so when she tries to convince him how his feeling are real and right, and begs him to run away from it. And it seems like he may succumb, but we'll find out next week. Which will most likely piss of Caroline and Stefan. Because as far as they know, Damon was going to do the right thing. Stefan is sure of it. And Damon wants to. But Elena seems very convincing. So if he doesn't quit her, they're likely to think he's being a devious a-hole.

Having gotten the last pivot in AC3, could finally start mass effect. Hmm, it sounds like to get the "goodest" results most efficiently, you have to play through a couple of times so you don't have to spend points of charm/intimidate and just earn the free points you get through paragon/renegade choices so you can allocate your skill points towards other things.

Of course, do I need to max out my ME1 character if I want to get to ME3 quicker? Though it isn't just the choices you make that carry over (and maxing out your character makes getting those choice easier/even possible) but it sounds like more stuff carries over to ME2 (like paragon/renegade points) if you're maxed? I mean, let's face it, I'm not capable of not maxing a character out. So it will actually be a while until I get to ME2 and ME3.

But I've started out as a space-born war hero since that maxes out the paragon bonus and soldier since that's the recommended class for beginners. But I'll prolly do infiltrator on my second play through when I'm more familiar with the system, plus it has electronics and decryption and uses the sniper rifle. I don't think I could ever do a pure support class, I need to be doing the gunning down myself.
