Having gotten the last pivot in AC3, could finally start mass effect. Hmm, it sounds like to get the "goodest" results most efficiently, you have to play through a couple of times so you don't have to spend points of charm/intimidate and just earn the free points you get through paragon/renegade choices so you can allocate your skill points towards other things.
Of course, do I need to max out my ME1 character if I want to get to ME3 quicker? Though it isn't just the choices you make that carry over (and maxing out your character makes getting those choice easier/even possible) but it sounds like more stuff carries over to ME2 (like paragon/renegade points) if you're maxed? I mean, let's face it, I'm not capable of not maxing a character out. So it will actually be a while until I get to ME2 and ME3.
But I've started out as a space-born war hero since that maxes out the paragon bonus and soldier since that's the recommended class for beginners. But I'll prolly do infiltrator on my second play through when I'm more familiar with the system, plus it has electronics and decryption and uses the sniper rifle. I don't think I could ever do a pure support class, I need to be doing the gunning down myself.
