The Vampire Diaries- Ha, the wolves knowing Katherine as "Kathy"! That's hilarious! I'm kinda curious if she introduced herself like that, or that guy was taking liberties, because I seriously cannot her imagine her trying to act like she's a "Kathy". I mean, I can see her as a Kate, or even a Katie, but Kathy just wouldn't seem right.

But man, the werewolves in this show are stupid. I mean, they're stronger than human, but even they admit they can't take on a vamp unless its the full moon, where they can change into their full wolf form. I mean, they'll be stronger, faster, have that bite that's fatal to vamps, even if not immediate. But what do they do? Take on the brothers Salvatore not on the full moon! I mean, they thought superior numbers would work, but last ep, it was a pretty much even fight, with the brothers slaughtering half their number. And then the wolves were immediately floored by a powerful man-witch who said they're under his protection. So between not being at full strength, and the vampires having powerful magical backing, you'd think they'd high tail it out of there until the next full moon. Though I suppose the whole moonstone thing and a chance to break their curse is pretty compelling.

And I suppose story-wise, since they had just had a full moon on the show, I guess they didn't want a whole month passing before they did anything with the wolves again. But seriously, when they first showed up in force, they were unaware of the moonstone. And I guess since Tyler's basically a pup, Jules didn't want a month going by without being able to help him. But Brady being all about vengeance and whatever, if they played it smart, they would have waited for the full moon to come.

So, onto this ep. spoiler cut )

So by now, you've seen the new trailer for X-Men: First Class:

Because I am a huge nerd, I paused during the scene where the "First Class" is sitting in the mansion listening to JFK's Cuban missile crisis speech, to determine who the frak they considered the first class by cross-referencing things with imdb. I mean, obviously F. Assbender, Mr Tumnus, and Rose Byrne, are young Magneto, young Prof. X, and young Moira Mctaggart, respectively. But I was trying to figure out who the rest of them were. So they're claiming the "first class" was Havok (they turned him into Cyclops older brother instead of his younger one?), Bill Engval's fake hot daughter (I'd make a Winter's Bone joke here, but I'm not clever to come up with something beyond something having to do with boning her in the winter) as Mystique, Beast, and Banshee?!

More trailer analysis: We also see Emma Frost in some sort of cell. Also, chick Angel played by Lenny Kravitz's daughter (so Angel went from a blond white guy to a black chick?!). Though I'm confused if she's also the person with the fly-like wings. I mean, if she was called Angel, I would think she would have feathery wings. Or s Pixie also in this? There's Darwin (played by the black vampire dude from the Twilight movie) driving a cab. Nekkid Mystique under the covers giving someone a come hither look, Possibly Azazel, since we see him teleporting around and fighting peeps in the trailer, so perhaps that scene is when they conceive Nightcrawler?

Also, we see the Blackbird actually look like a SR-71 Blackbird (as the X-jet has always been based on it). I guess the earlier model wasn't all that different from the normal SR-71? Beast showing off his agility, as lets not forget he wasn't blue and furry until much later in the series. Not that we don't see his transformation into that in the trailer. Only they seem to be jumping ahead to his "cat-like" look that Sage jumpstarted him into, rather than his traditional blue furry look. Looks like Mystique is all smitten with him though, so maybe its him in the bedroom scene I just mentioned. Ooh, maybe they'll do something where they think baby Nightcrawler is their's, since she's blue and he's furry? But its really Azazel who knocked her up.

Looks like the Hellfire club is in it also, what with Emma showing off her diamond form (though she didn't get that mutation until way later, but the movies seem to be more of a fan of that power of hers than her telepathy, but I guess they don't want people having similar powers and Charles is telepath guy already?), and Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw.

Owel, are they claiming the X-men solved the Cuban missile crisis?

Its Friday, so that means its the weekly Glee music pre-release. Couple of Bieber songs in this batch, Rolling Stone has the exclusive on Somebody To Love, hear the rest here. "Baby" was supposed to be on Bieber's official site, but apparently not.

"Somebody To Love", by Justin Bieber and Usher, is performed by Artie and Sam. Sounds like a perfectly fine rendition of the original.

Lauren has her first solo with "I Know What Boys Like" by the Waitresses. Some people are kinda pissed at that, given Tina still has had only one solo release and now here's yet another non main character getting a song. Of course, there are people who also says it sounds terrible. I actually think she's doing a proper rendition of the song, that's just what the song sounds like! Its not like this was some classic piece of music. It was originally done by a group called "The Waitresses"!

Then, there's "Take Me or Leave Me" from Rent performed by Rachel and Mercedes. On the one hand, I can see why Rach is doing it, since she's practically Idina Junior. On the other hand, I'd like to know the context of this performance, since Rachel and Mercedes aren't going out or anything. Anyways, given this is one of the more popular Rent songs, its bound to have a lot of people holding it to a higher standard. I think the girls do a real good job at it. I can see the complaints though. While I don't feel this way, there are some who feel it lacks the passion of the original, since they're not singing it as if they are some couple frustrated with each other. Heh, plus it seems like they're only doing Maureen's lines! Unless I've gone insane, I didn't hear any of Joanne's lines in there at all, since I don't recall Rachel or Mercedes singing about looking before they leap or making lists in their sleep.

Finally, we have My Chemical Romance's "Sing". Which is a Rachel/Finn led New Directions number. It sounds pretty good. And I realize its been a while since we've had one of those.

Videos from around the web:

Legend of Zelda as a John Hughes movie:

I thought this was pretty clever, they do a good job of referencing both John Hughes movies and Legend of Zelda. Its by the same people who did God of War as an indie movie.

And I'm a little late with this but here's the first ep of Cat Shit One/Apocalypse Meow:

Although I just realized there aren't any cats in it. This is based on some Manga, maybe there are cats in that? In any case, its pretty bad-ass for something starring anthropomorphic bunnies.
