So the other day, the news dropped that rock band 3 would have the 3 part harmonies from Beatles and Green Day Rock Band, plus a new instrument- the keyboard! Ah can't wait, I think the addition of a keyboard opens a up a whole slew of songs I've been wanting them to have (tho I can't think of any of the top of my head right now). But even without that, I'm at least glad they added the three mike thing. That was a great addition they came up with for Beatles RB, I think it made the vocal part a little more exciting. I mean, obviously I favor the vocals over anything else, but I think they're a tad boring compared to what the people on the instruments get to do.

Had a weird dream last night that I heard all sorts of juicy gossip, but for some reason I couldn't tell anyone. Well, not that I was incapable of it, but against my nature, in the dream, I felt babbling it would cause problems and unnecessary drama so I didn't. So it was all very strange and foreign to me.

So [livejournal.com profile] clevemire pointed me to this article this morning about a bunch of HS-ers getting preggers after doing stars. So, are kids nowadays just more slutty, or was I not cool enough in high school to know it was going on? But I was a gossip monger back then, if stuff like that was going on, I would've liked to think I would have known about it. I mean, I heard things, but the most risque thing that was going around wasn't even true- as I've said before there was a rumor going around that some of the guys were doing the point ranger thing. And again, I am still quite flattered though that a certain girl thought I was one of the participants and one of the more nefarious ones at that because I wasn't trying to get in her pants like the other guys and she thought that me not trying to get with her was some devious ploy to get with her. I would say she was being conceited if not for the fact that I did like her, but she already had a bunch of pathetic morons fawning all over her (and she wasn't even high on the popularity ladder!), why would I want to be just another one of those and getting nothing out of it?

TV Commentary:

Criminal Minds- since everything I normally watch on network TV is done (except Glee!) Decided to check out the Criminal Minds season finale. Tim Curry as the CotW is quite scary. Actually, he reminds me a lot of Abdul. spoiler cut )

Getting out of the cut- yet another reason I wouldn't want to live in California. Rolling blackouts! Not because it's gonna be all dark, but without electricity, how can I watch TV or get on the internet?!!

So, I finally got around to checking out the previews for two of the CW's upcoming new shows, Nikita and Hellcats:

Hellcats- So it seems to be Bring It On, the TV show? Hey, why not, it seems like "Make It Or Break It" is doing okay, and Bring It On was way more popular than Stick It. (I guess people find the world of competitive cheerleading more eggciting than competitive gymnastics?) Anyways, is this done by Disney or something? Because the main chyx are Keely from Phil of the Future (or for a more relevant reference, Aly of Aly and AJ) and Sharpay from HSM (okay, Ashley Tisdale).

Nikita- Looks interesting, and Maggie Q is hot. But since I watched the previous show, I'm used to Michael being a cold as ice assassin. And now he's being played by Shane West?!

Flashforward- Argh! Frickin-frick! Owel, I expected as much, but still! spoiler cut )

So I was quite disappointed that Samurai Warriors 3 was exclusively for the Wii, since I don't have one. I mean, I can understand the decline in popularity, as people are always "same old same old" about these video games. Thus, I don't think there was a motivation to develop the game for the other systems. While people may have complained each iteration is a rehash that changes very little (hey, how much do those sports games really change from year to year?), sometimes you don't want something all that complex, sometimes you just want to feel the power of cutting through hundreds of enemies like a hot knife through butter.

In any case, the other franchise covering those characters, Sengoku Basara (the first of which was released as Devil Kings in the US), is on the ps3 in addition to the Wii (but not the 360), though unfortunately only in Japan. So, I was watching the trailer for this, and while some of the characters have always been recognizable between the two (Date and Sanada), others have totally different designs. Like there were several characters in the trailer I was trying to figure out, "Who the frick are they?" Like the main two featured in this trailer- a young guy in yellow who fights with his fists, and a femme looking samurai dude in black and silver armor with a white vest with purple trim. So I looked it up here, and apparently yellow guy is Tokugawa, and the femme samurai is Mitsunari! I mean, Mitsunari's also quite effeminate in SW3. But I'm used to Ieyasu being a squat fat dude with a ridiculously big hat, not a character from friggin Tekken or Virtua Fighter.

But yeah, while Yoshihiro and Honda look like giant bad-asses in both games, the rest of the sengoku basara characters seem like bishi versions of their SW counterparts. Though the chyx in the SW games look like jail bait, whereas the sengoku basara versions are all sexified. (and they made Magoichi a chick!) I do like their version of Oichi though, because they do make her a little more darker and you can tell the connection with Oda. In the SW series, you wouldn't know the two were brother and sister without being told.
