So the other day, the news dropped that rock band 3 would have the 3 part harmonies from Beatles and Green Day Rock Band, plus a new instrument- the keyboard! Ah can't wait, I think the addition of a keyboard opens a up a whole slew of songs I've been wanting them to have (tho I can't think of any of the top of my head right now). But even without that, I'm at least glad they added the three mike thing. That was a great addition they came up with for Beatles RB, I think it made the vocal part a little more exciting. I mean, obviously I favor the vocals over anything else, but I think they're a tad boring compared to what the people on the instruments get to do.
Had a weird dream last night that I heard all sorts of juicy gossip, but for some reason I couldn't tell anyone. Well, not that I was incapable of it, but against my nature, in the dream, I felt babbling it would cause problems and unnecessary drama so I didn't. So it was all very strange and foreign to me.
So
clevemire pointed me to this article this morning about a bunch of HS-ers getting preggers after doing stars. So, are kids nowadays just more slutty, or was I not cool enough in high school to know it was going on? But I was a gossip monger back then, if stuff like that was going on, I would've liked to think I would have known about it. I mean, I heard things, but the most risque thing that was going around wasn't even true- as I've said before there was a rumor going around that some of the guys were doing the point ranger thing. And again, I am still quite flattered though that a certain girl thought I was one of the participants and one of the more nefarious ones at that because I wasn't trying to get in her pants like the other guys and she thought that me not trying to get with her was some devious ploy to get with her. I would say she was being conceited if not for the fact that I did like her, but she already had a bunch of pathetic morons fawning all over her (and she wasn't even high on the popularity ladder!), why would I want to be just another one of those and getting nothing out of it?
TV Commentary:
Criminal Minds- since everything I normally watch on network TV is done (except Glee!) Decided to check out the Criminal Minds season finale. Tim Curry as the CotW is quite scary. Actually, he reminds me a lot of Abdul. I mean, they have pretty similar MOs, and he would also find sadistic glee in learning one of his first victims became a decorated hero cop because of his experiences (even though he apparently repressed them) and head back to frak with him.
Owel, that ending, argh! Now I actually have to watch the season premiere to find out what happens! I'm amused I'm more anxious to find out what's gonna happen here compared to the cliffhangers on the shows I actually do watch. Well, not all of them. Like I'm not really concerned about Chuck surviving on Gossip Girl, because please, like they'd really kill him off! And Paloma showing up at Gibbs' dad's shop. I don't think she's actually gonna kill him. i mean, I could be wrong, but that would be so simplistic and prosaic if she did. But I'm still more excited to see what happens when Elena walks into the kitchen and finds her vampire doppleganger Katherine standing over the dead corpse of her father/uncle on the Vampire Diaries. And how quickly it takes Fringe Division to figure out that Olivia's been replaced by her alt-self.
But I digress, I was a little confused that Tim Curry left both Morgan and the sister alive. I mean, I figured he would've killed the sister (among other things) beforehand to further taunt cop guy, but since he left her alive until he and Morgan got there, I would have guessed he would have offed her at some point then. I mean, he definitely would've let Morgan live to demonstrate his impotence. Particularly since he went as far as he could with cop guy- I think to Tim Curry, there was no more fun to be had with him. But he got the jump on Morgan and made him helpless to stop him from killing cop guy, so he would want Morgan to live, a new witness/victim to mess with. But like I said, not killing the sister seemed a little false- particularly since cop guy made Morgan promise his sister and daughter would be safe after Tim Curry killed him. Doing something to the sister while Morgan was helpless to stop him would've been just his kind of "frak you". But I guess its good the show isn't trying to be as horrible as it could be.
(Although I'm feeling quite squicky trying to delve into the mind of a fictional sociopathic killer and trying to figure out what he would and would not do)
In any case, things were a little too deus ex machina. I mean, I can believe he would expect the city to go into blackout. I mean, he was such a monster that the city thought it better to suspend the rolling blackouts and hope it didn't black out. Which was retarded because they had to know that was going to happen- everyone was hoping everyone else would turn down their AC. So I'll give them that. But there's no way he would know that Morgan and cop guy would think to check the sister's house first, send everyone over there right before the cellphones got cut off, then realize, "Oh, since its about cop guy, he'll actually take them to his original childhood home". I mean, what would he do if more than just the guy and Morgan showed up? Things ended up being way too convenient for him.
Getting out of the cut- yet another reason I wouldn't want to live in California. Rolling blackouts! Not because it's gonna be all dark, but without electricity, how can I watch TV or get on the internet?!!
