TV Commentary:
Glee- Good thing I didn't trust Fox, because after having one of the Fringe recordings getting cut off because AI ran long a few weeks ago, I realized I needed to add a few minutes just in case. And it did! How great of Fox to promote this show pretty heavily, but then still let AI run long so people who DVRed it got their recordings cut off!
Anyways, this was totally awesome. You know, they tout Ryan Murphy as the Nip/Tuck guy, I had no idea he was also behind Popular. The show has elements of the latter, but with more music. In any case, there was a lot I liked about this. The musical numbers were great, and I'm amused how the background music is mostly glee versions of famous songs.
They're obviously pushing Rachel/Finn and Will/Emma as the main ships, though it is odd how they're basically just parallels of each other- noth are guys stuck in dead end relationships with a couple of manipulative bitches. Well, Will is, we haven't seen enough of cheerleader girl, though Will's wife was head cheerleader in high school, and they reference Will being the "golden boy" back in high school, just like Finn seems to be. Rachel's pursuit of Finn is quite cute and earnest, it could've easily come off as overbearing and annoying.
But since a glee club is an ensemble, hopefully we'll learn more about the rest of the kids, rather than them being relegated to one sided caricatures. And what was with all the Heroes secondary characters in this- Will's wife is Meredith (though she's in everything, including Nip/Tuck), Emma is Charlie, the previous Glee club dude was Bob, and Finn's cheerleader girlfriend was Claire's cheerleader nemesis. Well, the second one, not the one from her original high school.
I'll definitely catch this next fall, and I can't wait for the soundtrack to come out. From the previews, it looks like they're gonna do a couple more fun songs. But "Don't Stop Believin" and "Rehab" are already up on itunes.
SVU- Okay, this was one of the more ridiculous eps of this show ever. I mean, some stalker ex-bf dude sets up Sprague Grayden to get raped by Haywire, and when they catch him and bring him to trial with Charles Widimore as judge, they eventually figure out he's Widimore's long lost son who everyone thought was killed by this serial rapist-killer from the 70s? It does not make sense, and "hanging a lampshade" on it still doesn't make it easier to swallow.
Reaper- I'm guessing this show won't be renewed for next year? I mean, the way the season finale seems to be being set up for next week, it looks like everything is in place to be a series finale. ( spoiler cut )
90210- Interesting season finale. ( spoiler cut )
NCIS- ( spoiler cut )
