TV commentary:
Degrassi- New season of Degrassi, through the first three eps so far. I wanna feel sorry for Esme, because she is clearly troubled and needs help. So Zig is kinda a dullard for not noticing his own gf has problems before going to comfort his ex. And it seems like things were going good when he finally realized how him hanging with Maya could hurt her. But then he says he blames himself for Maya's suicide attempt, and in a weird, misguided attempt to get him to not think that, she reveals Saad had let Maya onto the roof, and its Saad's fault for not recognizing Maya was troubled. Which leads to Zig all of a sudden laying it all on Saad, with his weirdness. So, points off for basically throwing Saad under the bus to prop up her boyfriend.
And man, Hunter is an idiot. I mean, I get he's socially awkward and clueless, but he knows he and Yael aren't like the other kids at school. So he has to know that the advice he was getting from his sister and Esme and Zig and Tiny was totally terrible. Touching up Yael's yearbook pic? Listening to Zig and Tiny being all, "Yael's cool, right? Just tell her you don't like hairy pits, its all about what's attractive!" Actually, I guess all that advice was objectively terrible, and it would make sense if they were messing with him. But they all thought it was good advice!
I like how Lola has turned into that flaky-seeming girl with the funny colored hair to a real sweetheart. Also, was that really subtle shade she was throwing there? I mean, it was kinda hilarious that that one counselor had been looking at Frankie's social media and worrying about her all, "Oh, I heard about your break up!" That's like embarrassingly weird. But then Frankie was venting to Lola and Shay, and they were all, "well, you have been kinda morose lately!"
And then Lola is all, "see, look at my social media posts from after I broke up with Tiny! See, I look totally happy!" Which, I guess Lola has gotten over the whole Shay/Tiny thing, but it almost seems like a dig. All, "Hey, remember when my bf broke up with me and started going out with you and I look all happy in my social posts?! I was really miserable!" Its kinda hard not to read a little resentment in that statement, like when you guys were happy, I was just playing along even though I was upset.
Video game blather- Hey, I finally, finally unlocked all the kustom kombat modifiers in MKX. I mean, it took a few months, but I finally drew all the different modifiers in the hourly living towers. So now I not longer have to check those every so often hoping to get a modifier I don't have yet.
I also finally reached the 2000 battles in Tekken to unlock all the customization options. So I actually spent a whole lot of time building outfits for all the characters. I guess all that I have left to do for now is I guess reach 20 dan with all the characters so the Beastly Horn accessory is maxed out. I have the season pass for the game, and its sounds like they'll be adding new modes and characters over the next year, so its good there'll still be stuff to do in the game.
I know people have been clamoring for older characters who didn't make the cut in this game, like Anna, Bruce, Kunimitsu or the Changs. But specifically Lei Wulong. I mean, Anna was always a slightly tweaked Nina, Bruce and Bryan shared a lot of commonality, and Kuni was similar to Raven (though I guess now, Master Raven). But Lei was always a really unique character, looking like Jackie Chan and having all the different stances. I assume he'll be back at some point.
But apparently Tekken is getting two new guest characters. Definitely curious as to who those would be.
