Fargo- Pretty wild episode! So its lucky that Nikki was chained to Mr Wrench, because he helps her against Yuri, Meemo, and DJ Qualls. Its a bloodbath, Varga's men slaughter everyone on the bus, and then Meemo executes a couple who happen by the scene. DJ Qualls and Yuri go after Nikki and Wrench.
Yuri almost gets killed by some random crossbow hunters, who thought he was an animal because of his mask. He kills them for their crossbow and he and DJ Qualls ambush Nikki and Wrench when they stop to try and chop off the chain tying them together. Wrench and Nikki manage to decapitate DJ Qualls in a knock down, drag out fight, while Wrench manages to possibly mortally wound Yuri with a wild axe throw.
I say mortally wound, because we don't see him die, but its implied. Nikki and Wrench happen upon a bowling alley, where they bump into Ray Wise, who's a little more mystical than when we saw him with Gloria on the trip to LA. Is he some sort of spirit? He lets Nikki play with a kitten, who is possibly the reincarnated Ray, gives her the keys to a VW beetle so she and Wrench can get away, and tells her that all he needs from her is to tell some evil-doers at some point in the future (she'll know when) some portentous saying.
Then after she and Wrench drive off, Yuri shows up, and since he is apparently descended from the Cossacks who slaughtered a bunch of jews back in the 40s, Ray Wise has a message to give to him from them. So the implication is he dies from his wounds, and the spirits of those dead his ancestors slaughtered are gonna get him. He apparently never returns to Vargas, so I guess he's dead?
And it somehow gets crazier after that! Vargas poisons Sy, and we get a time jump to March, where Emmet is visiting the still comatose Sy, with Gloria and Winnie still hounding him about all the suspicious crap around him. It looks like someone is fucking with him though, because when he goes to the parking lot, Ray's wrecked Vette is in his parking spot in place of his own car.
Then when he goes in to work, someone has replaced all the pictures in his office with pictures of the stamp. He's freaking out of course, thinking its Nikki and Ray, risen from the dead. So Nikki did manage to get away. Vargas tries to reassure him it couldn't possibly be her.
But then Emmett wakes up at home, a mustache suddenly on his face. Which does appear to give Vargas and Meemo pause, as someone managed to sneak past Meemo and glue a mustache to Emmett's face without waking him up. Vargas ends up drugging Emmett, but then Emmett shows up at the police station after, where Gloria (who's now only a deputy) has just signed her divorce papers. He wants to confess. Now, is that the intended consequence of the pills Vargas gave to Emmett? Or was he just trying to drug Emmett to calm him down, and once Emmett woke up he was still feeling guilty and went to confess?
