Mar. 23rd, 2017 09:37 amME: Andromeda blather- Starting to hit the groove in Andromeda. Especially since I built me a Valiant. I had been using the special pathfinder sniper rifle that comes with the special edition, but when it was taking multiple shots to kill things, I figured it was because I was low level. Nope, it was the rifle. So now I have something that does proper damage. I did just realize Infiltrators lost the time dilation effect though. Which is disappointing, but Infiltrators were OP anyways.
They do get to see through walls, making penetration mods more essential. Which means I might switch to a black widow presuming it still has inherent penetration. I also unlocked tactical cloak- amusingly enough, since I was throwing points into tech powers for tactical cloak, and then into tactical cloak itself, I've been unlocking the engineer profiles. Which means I have to spend more points in combat to actually get to the higher level Infiltrator profiles. Which is no big deal, since they added back the passives that just give you straight bonuses to weapons. But yeah, once I unlock infiltrator 2, then I'll start putting things into biotics. Since I'll have spent a bunch of points in combat at that point for infiltrator, that will easily unlock vanguard 2.
I have my favorite profiles currently set up as Infiltrator/Vanguard/Engineer, the last one if I don't need cloak at the moment but could use some more tech powers, though I will probably switch it out for sentinel once that's unlocked. Not sure what I'll do for the last profile though.
Infiltrator's power set is tactical cloak of course (I like that the new final evolution lets you regain shields while cloaked), energy drain, and incinerate for armor. I'm thinking charge/nova/annihilation, though I'm not sure that has the best synergy.
Heh, its funny, because I just finished spending enough points on people to unlock their fifth power. So I was blind to that power as something I could spend points in at the time.
TV commentary:
The Magicians- Heh, first the Flash/Supergirl musical crossover on Tuesday, then the Magicians does a rendition of "One Day More"? Awesome. I'm also shocked they dropped the C-word this ep. Maybe its somehow less offensive to the censors if Margo uses it to describe herself? Looks like I was wrong about Reynard's son being someone we've seen. Its a senator played by Jake 2.0. He's not evil (yet!), just a handsome, rich successful politician who was unaware that the power he inherited from his dad subtly always made things work out for him.
But hey Alice is free! I kinda like Shadeless Julia and Niffin Alice teaming up. They're delightfully fun. Although it is sad to see Kady try to stick up for Julia, but in the end having to realize she's not the same girl she once knew and having to lock her up.
Heh, I'm amused the war is solved by Eliot marrying Ess' father (whom he thinks is a DILF and who thinks Eliot is cute too). It was that or finish their duel to the death. But since the monarchs of that world are allowed "one of each", it works. Fen doesn't seem to upset at this, since it means Eliot is alive in safe. She'll prolly be none too pleased when she finds out she end up promising her unborn child to faeries in exchange for them fixing the Wellspring.
It is unfortunate too- Margo want the Wellspring fixed so Eliot could use a fancy battle spell to grant him skill in swordplay to win the duel. Which require the Wellspring not to brown out every so often. Because the Fae are a specific lot with their contracts and wording, they get Margo to present an offer to Fen- If the Wellspring is fixed and Eliot is returned to them safe and unharmed, she will pay "whatever cost".
And since those two things happened, Fen owes them a baby, though she doesn't know that yet. I would say its funny, because Eliot didn't need the battle magic spell anyways since he resolved the conflict diplomatically. But then again, if magic hadn't stabilized and the Lorian king wasn't faced with an empowered Eliot, he may not have necessarily agreed to the marriage.
The Expanse- I'm very curious about the whole Draper situation. So those Martian officers basically telling Draper to tell that fiction that her squad accidentally started the battle by freaking out and shooting first, are they part of the proto-molecule conspiracy? Or are they just politicians, and her seeing something crazy like the Earth soldiers running from something not wearing a vac suit is crazy and will lead to a diplomatic incident. So the easiest is to just create an easy fiction that both sides will accept.
Bobbie was upset that they also threw that one Earth-descended guy in her squad under the bus by saying he was gung-ho because of bullying from his Earthen heritage and he wanted to prove he was pro-Martian by killing Earthers. But when Chrisjen asks her back for more questions, she goes back to towing the company line instead of revealing the truth, which is disappointing.
