TV commentary:
iZombie- Hmm, some pretty good developments here. Little things that may be big later: Guess Gilda really is a zombie now, she sneaks into Liv's apartment looking for brains, but gets captured by her dad's henchthug. Also, thanks to the CotW, Peyton manages a big blow to Mr Boss to the tune of several million dollars, which makes me worry for her.
Anyways, the big stuff: Liv finally finds out Drake is an undercover cop, which makes me think she'll be less blase about his disappearance and start really worrying about him. But heh, she's prolly thinking Mr Boss did something to him, unless she ends up talking to Ravi.
Why Ravi? Because he figures out Major is the zombie hunter. Which unfortunately isn't too outlandish a thing since Major was pretty anti-zombie last season, so Ravi wouldn't even think its because Major is under duress and doing this to protect Liv. And Major doesn't even get a chance to explain himself since its now that he's finally reverted back to a zombie, and Ravi injects him to knock him out before he can react.
Also throwing a monkeywrench in things- the cure worked on Blaine, and he's human again. Unfortunately, he's suffering massive memory loss, so he can't even remember half of the shenanigans he's pulled, or back Major's story up.
So, on the one hand, its cool that people are learning things, on the other, its a little frustrating because everyone has a little piece right now, and hopefully they'll eventually start talking to figure everything out!
Faking It- Oh, that wasn't too bad! When Amy and Lauren said they were going to release "the video", I was worried that it would be something over the line. But its basically just Karma doing a Friday-esque video when she was younger called Humpday. Its incredibly embarrassing, but also kinda cute. Like sure its humiliating, but it could've been worse.
Like what Karma does to fire back, which is steal Amy's journal and hand the pages out to everyone. Now THAT's over the line, not cool. I mean, embarrassing video of you is nowhere near as equal as revealing someone's deepest, innermost thoughts.
Alas, while it does seem like the girls call a truce, it seems like their friendship is still broken. Amy admits she still does have feelings for Karma, so Karma doesn't know how to be friends with Amy without hurting her. Also, she finally reveals the reason for the pool kiss- as we know, Karma has always been someone who deeply craved attention, and Amy loving her has always felt good. So Karma thinks she kissed Amy as some subconscious way to keep her on the hook.
Which, its interesting, because Lauren actually wasn't wrong about Karma playing mindgames, but its not like Karma was doing it consciously or maliciously. Anyways, so we're left thinking that maybe Karma doesn't love Amy in that way, but loves the idea of Amy being in love with her in that way. Which, the frustrating thing about this show is the hope that Karmy will be endgame, but thinking, maybe it won't be, maybe the story is about being queer and in love with a straight friend, and figuring out how to make it work. Which I guess is an okay story, but at the same time, the number of queer couples who get to live happily ever after pale in comparison to the number of straight couples, so why can't the fans have this?
I mean, they continue this Amy-Karma-Liam triangle, but really, who the eff watches this show for Karma and Liam? Sure, they have their fans, but again, we have enough whitebread straight couples on TV. You want a pretty straight white couple, go watch Awkward, its on half an hour before Faking It. Or something on the CW. Or literally any other channel.
