The Magicians- Whoops! So the new kids are put through some (school sanctioned) hazing by Eliot and Margo. Quentin, Alice, Penny, and Kady pass the tests of course. But not before secrets come out for the final test. We find out Alice is holding back, and she's like a super magical genius. But more pressing, Penny tells Kady he's falling for her, which makes her secret more heartbreaking, that she's been playing this whole time.
Why? Because we learn about her mom, who coincidentally teams up with Julia. Kady's mom and Marina did a job together in the past, and it went bad, so now Kady is paying her mom's debt to Marina. Anyways, Julia and Kady's mom to try and steal Marina's file cabinets since Marina continues to keep Julia cut off. They seem to succeed, but when they check the cabinets out, its a trap. Kady's mom manages to warn Julia just in time, before she dies by a really bloody spell. Wonder how Kady is going to feel about that. It sounds like she and her mom aren't on good terms, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't get upset the Marina turned her mom inside out.
PLL- Ha, seriously, why does Em get the worst of it? At least physically. So Em finds the possible murder weapon but then is menaced by a mysterious person in a big-ass SUV, who manages to steal the evidence from her. So Em figures they're being harassed by 2 people- one who wants them to give up Charlotte's killer, and another who wants to stop that from happening.
Spencer also runs into trouble. She tells her mom she knows she was still sick, but not how she knew. Veronica gets ahead of it by coming clean on air. But, someone also releases something about her opponent at the same time- that Yvonne had gotten knocked up in HS, and aborted it, which is bad given her mom is running on a pro-life campaign.
Of course, they trace the leak to Spencer's computer somehow, so Caleb takes the blame until they can figure out who really did it.
iZombie- Wow, some pretty big surprises. First, the CotW, which was weird in that the mastermind behind it (Marina from iZombies) got away with it. Also, Ravi thinks he's into a girl who works at the coffee shop where the case of the week happen, but later finds out they're incompatible. I only bring it up, because she was cute. Like when I first saw her in Caprica, she was okay, and then as Fox on the 100, she was pretty cute, but she looks her cutest here.
Anyways, surprise reveal #1- Drake is actually an undercover. And he can't tell Liv, who's already rethinking their relationship because she think he's a criminal.
Surprise #2, Major finally finds out Gilda is Liv's roommate. Again, I think I've mentioned this before, but I find it insane he didn't know. Like I guess Gilda/Rita knew for sure Liv and Major were together, but I guess Major did not know how close she was to Liv. I mean, it seems crazy it never came up, but I just assumed she was in place to watch Liv, and he couldn't warn Liv lest Max Rager do something to Liv. But he just didn't know.
But the jig is up- sort of. He finally meets "Gilda", only no one ever actually says her name. So he thinks her name is Rita (which again, I'll give you that he somehow never met her, but I can't believe Liv never said her roommates name), and calls her that as he leaves. Which Liv figures out is the name of the woman who had been sexting Major. She gets pissed and beats up Gilda, thinking she is merely some creepy stalker who lived with her to get to Major.
Surprise #3, Mr Boss finds out Blaine is the mole- the guy he sends to collect from Blaine recognizes him as "Chinatown". Named so because he was given a corner in Chinatown when he first worked for Mr. Boss. Blaine hired a couple of Chinese guy to rough up some local cop, which brought hell down on the triads in that area, giving Blaine free reign. Mr Boss figures Blaine is using that tactic again, to use the DA's office this time to help make a move against Mr Boss.
So, Mr Boss captures Blaine (you know, I heard David Anders had his own band or something, but I'd never actually heard him sing. He's pretty good!) and kills him. But Blaine comes back to life later, so I guess he's back to being a zombie. Which he should be happy about.
Oh, as for the cure, they end up finding very little of the tainted Utopium- since the baggies were in them so long, stomach acids ate through the condoms and destroyed them. But, there were a couple of baggies up the butt, so Ravi is able to use it to formulate a batch of the same cure formula. Major is all ready to take it, but Ravi wants to test on rats again. Which is good, because it ends up making the rat an even more feral and decaying zombie rat.
