Better Call Saul- Wow, this show knows how to mess with you. Lucky that Mike works at the police station, because he's able to stop Pryce from getting into big trouble because he recognizes the cops are suspicious of him and are fishing. He tracks down the guy's baseball cards for him and brokers a deal to make everything right.
But, the cops still need answers, so Jimmy shows up at Pryce's lawyer, and claims that the thing in the hidey hole were fetish videos of "Squat Cobbler". Heh, that's kinda brilliant and hilarious that he can come up with a crazy fetish off the top of his head and make it sound like its a thing. The cops are kinda skeptical, but at the same time, its just too crazy to make up. But, Pryce has to make a "cry baby squat cobbler" video first just so they can prove its a thing.
Anyways, Jimmy is telling the story later, and they're having a laugh and its seems like good times. And then the show pulls the rug out from under you when Kim freaks out about hearing that Jimmy had Pryce make a fake video. Its falsifying evidence, which could get him disbarred, and screw up their current case if people found out.
Which, I'm kinda wondering how Jimmy worked up to the cobbler conversation, because they kinda started with him recounting the story. But I realize, he couldn't say, "Oh, I helped out a friend who didn't want to get implicated in shady drug deals". So its like, why does Kim think he's doing this? For it to be a story, Jimmy would have to tell Kim that he came up with this con to distract the cops from something, so you'd think she'd be all, distract from what?
I mean, this isn't Heisenberg era Saul here, but at the same time Jimmy has still been involved in shady stuff these past couple of seasons. She's worried about him falsifying evidence, but honestly, if she realized what he was falsifying evidence for, that would be a bigger deal anyways.
But like I said, this show man, really knows how to do a number on you. You're laughing along with Jimmy's story, and thinking its a sweet moment between him and Kim. But then "Bam!" that one seemingly innocent line turns everything around.
And wow, Chuck is kinda a dick. I get he doesn't trust his brother because he let him down in the past (you'd think being at his beck and call over his technology-allergy would get Jimmy better consideration), but its kinda effed up that the thing he goes out for this ep despite his mental issues is to freak out Jimmy and try and mess things up for him at work. Like Chuck had trouble getting the freaking paper off his lawn. But going through all that mess just to try and intimidate his own brother? What an asshole!
