Continuum- Interesting, I didn't even think about that. Alec loves Emily (I do like that she most likely would've escaped via her own bad-assedry), but they never really delved into whether that is who he ends up with. i.e, is he Jason's mother. Emily outright asks Jason, who shakes his head no. She's crushed, so she decides to leave, under the guise of, "Oh, I'm your achilles' heel, people will keep trying to use me against you, so I have to run away and go into hiding!"
Heh, of course, how does she know she isn't supposed to stay with Alec for a while. Like maybe they're together for years, and then after she dies, he meets some other woman who ends up being Jason's mother. And perhaps he never meets her/gets into her unless he's spent all this other time with Emily.
Also, I'm not sure how old Jason is supposed to be, but it seems like the timeline wouldn't work out anyways for her to be his mom unless in the future you can have babies when you're really old. Don't forget, Jason got thrown back farther than Kiera and the Liber8 folks, he was in the "past" for 20 years. So he's 20 years older than he was in 2077. The actor is like 50 now, and I'm assuming the character is supposed to be in his 40s. So he was in his 20s into 2077, which back tracking, means he was born in the 2050s. Also, Alec is damn near 80 if not older in 2077, and I assume Emily is around the same age, so yeah, 20 years before, unless Emily had a kid in her 60s, she definitely couldn't be his mom. But like I said, that doesn't mean she and Alec could've been together for years before he met Jason's mom!
And so what if they change things, the show is full of paradoxes! Maybe them being together causes Jason not to be born? The way things are going, it doesn't seem like he's going to be born anyways (which is also another reason Kiera wanting to go back to the future to see her son is insane, it doesn't seem like that's possible, the future has already been changed, and with it being all post apocalyptic, it seems she might not even have been born, much less her son!). And so what? He's alive now. And they showed in first season that killing an ancestor wouldn't erase them from the timeline.
Anyways, it is insane how interweaved everyone has become! Dillon works for Kellogg now. Brad claims to be on Kiera's side, and Kiera manages to convince Garza to work together. Not to mention how amusing it is to see Alec, Julian, Jason, and Lucas working together and hanging out like they didn't used to be enemies.
It is interesting though, future Kellogg might now be as conniving as present Kellogg? I mean, he's wanting to give himself an advantage by telling him what's gonna happen, but future him is all, "So you know what to do so you can fix the world!" without being all, "And also come out on top!" like you'd expect. It will be interesting to see how all this turns out.
