TV commentary:

IZombie- Hmm, some random questions answered. So the traits received from eating brains aren't permanent, they fade away and/or get replaced when she eats new brains.

And since one of the other channels was randomly showing IZombie reruns the other day and I caught the start of the pilot again, I was actually thinking, what happened to the random intern she thought was going to be her frenemy? I mean, I guess it could be assumed she had died at that party, but it was cool to actually see that addressed.

Justified- Wow, pretty wild ep, rife with death and double dealings and wot not. So Ava's uncle Zachariah is alive, and they're trying to get away through old moonshine trails. Too bad their contact is some old recluse who actually ended up dying of presumably natural causes and no one knew, because he was a crazy old recluse. So Ava seems like she thinks she's screwed.

The ADA thinks Raylan is in cahoots with Ava. I mean, we the audience know that's ridiculous, but he makes a pretty compelling case. I guess Raylan doesn't want to head back and talk about it because he suspects he'll just be railroaded, and it wastes precious time he could be using to get Ava and Boyd.

Oh, yeah, Boyd was under arrest and at the hospital, but Markham springs Carl out of jail with the help of some crooked cop friends and threatens his younger brother Earl to get the location of the money out of Boyd and kill him. Carl is pretty pissed, figuring Boyd set him and his brother up, and Markham confirms as much, that they were the distraction while he kidnapped Katherine for ransom. But Boyd talks Carl down, all, we should take down Markham and rescue your brother together. But then once he's loose, Boyd kills Carl as a distraction so he can escape.

Meanwhile, Katherine, whom Markham forgives, goes after Wynn for turning on her husband and getting him killed. Heh, poor, honorable Mikey. He's pissed at his former boss for being a rat. But then when Duffy is all, "Why do you care about who killed your hubby, weren't you shacking up with Markham at the time?" she says that doesn't matter, Grady was still her partner, and you avenge your partner. Mikey won't let her shoot him though, despite all this, he's still loyal. To a point. He just wants to put the word out that Duffy's a rat, and I guess if they don't directly kill Duffy, it will assuage his guilt? Or maybe he just wanted to delay the inevitable and hope there would be some solution to the conundrum they're in.

But heh, he tells Katherine, if she's the one who kills Duffy, then he would be honor bound to kill her. She had just said, it doesn't matter what goes down between partners, the loyalty is still there. So, he tries to stop her, and it turns into this insane, knock down drag out fight, where he gets shot multiple times, and he press slams Katherine into various pieces of furniture. He finally kills her by crushing her trachea with a vicious punch to the throat, before finally succumbing to his wounds.

Despite the betrayal, Duffy is quite sad about Mikey's death, holding him as he dies.

Raylan ends up seeing Markham, and after trading barbs with Boone (hopefully they'll have a proper showdown) he breaks the news to Avery that his beloved is dead. Avery is pretty upset, all his plans constantly getting ruined. What's the point to all this now if he doesn't have her to share it with. One thing that cracks me up about this show is how loquacious and melodramatic these people are. Like who gives the calm, centered speech about a man's fiancee's death like Raylan does, using fancy $10 words and telling Markham to take this time to properly grieve. Its like, who talks like that about such things?!

In any case, other stuff- Earl may testify against Markham, Boone got a new hat, and he creepily hides in Loretta's jeep to menace her some more, and then in the end, Art (who's back in charge because Rachel's ass got demoted for this royal screwup) gives Raylan 48 hours to catch Boyd, Ava, or the money since he's not coming in. Which is prolly the only way he can get the ADA to believe that he wasn't in on any robbery with Ava. Else, Art will be going after Raylan himself. Ha!
