TV commentary:
Gracepoint- Interesting, with one ep left, I'm curious if they are going to have the killer be the same one in Broadchurch. But yeah, just like in Broadchurch, the Rosemont case had tanked in the same way- Carver's wife had an affair, and ended up losing a crucial piece of evidence, and Emmett took the blame, because he didn't want his daughter to find that out about her mom.
In any case, all the evidence seems to be pointing to Vince right now, which, with one ep still left has me thinking that's a red herring. Also, I'm curious if that's foreshadowing- Ellie asks Susan/Ruth how could she not know that stuff about her husband and children? Which seems like prime setup for Ellie to get a big shock about her own family. Particularly with her arguing with her husband at the end, wondering what he does all day that he doesn't have time to do things he's supposed to be doing.
But heh, kinda a dick move on Carver's part. He has the laptop from the priest, presumably he's having an outside asset look into the hard drive, and I can understand him not wanting to tell Ellie about it. But instead of not telling her about it, he plays games, asking to see her son's laptop and tells her to bring it in, knowing full well that she won't find it since he has it. Does he want to be all, "Ha, I knew you wouldn't find it, because I have it, because your son was acting all suspicious!"
