Damn it, I want to heat up my pop tart, but there's a meeting in the break room. And I just realized I forgot to bring my lunch today. What me am, an idiot?!

I was also hoping next Tuesday would be repeats since I won't have the benefits of a PVR back in NYC. But they're all still new. Its like, so which shows do I watch? I think yet another sign of my TV addiction is that I'm spending more than a minute thinking about this. I mean, it should still be in the PVR when I get back to Atlanta, so why worry, eh? But you know me and my need for instant gratification and my paranoia about things going wrong. If I really wanted to go for super redundancy, I could have my VCR recording whatever the PVR is, have [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 record 24 for me and borrow the tape at Thanksgiving, and realize that Smallville repeats on Sundays at 5pm and 24 repeats on F/X.

Anyways, it looks like last night's BtVS was a good one for Spuffy fans. And the whole thing with Morphy got less confusing once you realize only Spike could see it, thus limiting the chances of you wondering who's interacting with who. And they don't really expect people to think Giles is gonna be taken out, do they? He'll get out of it.

The whole Kim storyline on 24 pisses me off. I can't see how there's any problem there. First off, they can prolly trace the injuries to before she was even working for that family. Even if the wife goes along with the husband, the police have to be suspicious about her looking like a punching bag. So there's no reason that any charges brought against her would stick up. And even if they do, so they hold her for a day or so. Her father saved the President's life! She's getting off. And the guy will have a pissed off Jack after him. He's like the f'n reaper! And nice poker face Poor Man's Cate Blanchett has there. Okay, I'm not one to be talking about playing it cool or keeping secrets. Because I'm lousy at that. But that's why I gather a lot of secrets! That way, if someone calls me on it, I can get away with giving some less important secret away and get them off my back.

I dunno, for some reason, that Jonathan Taylor Thomas was just getting my goat (what the hell does that mean anyways) in Smallville. That cocky little punk. Mebbe its because he was getting with both Chloe and Lana. I was amused by Clark being all "you're only with them to get an inside track to that scholarship!" Uh, have you seen Lana and Chloe, Superboy? That may be true, but I think the total hottiness plays a big factor here as well. I mean, who's head isn't short circuiting at the thought of them being roomies? You know what he meant by "celebrating" them moving in together! Oh, and the whole none of them ever technically dated line? Didn't he take Chloe to a dance, and not as "just friends"? That's a date. One date, but a date nonetheless. So he did spend some time with her in a non-platonic way. What a bastard!

Since there were talks about Alexis Bledel and her hot or notness on gtg last week, I must point out she was looking mad cute last night. Really. And it wasn't just the schoolgirl outfit! I also got to thinking, when she tries apologizing to Dean, do those words actually help? I mean, on TV, if they're both credited cast members, people who go out for a long time and break up or end up involved in some sort of triangle always stay friends. But in real life, things definitely don't work out that way. But it seems like if one half left the other for someone else and they try to apologize, the other half doesn't really want to hear it. So do those words really matter? I mean, do they take such an apology seriously? Is it a time thing? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time before you try to rekindle a friendship? And when is the right time?

How ASIAN are you?

Ha, I'm such an uncle tom that I got flagged as a wannabe asian. Ah'm skeptical. Of course, the quiz is flawed in that there is no "banana" category, which I am the shining example of.

My background is actually filipino, so there weren't really any classes I could take at college. But I think a couple of my cousins actually bought one of those language tape sets to try and learn it. I guess I'm just lazy!

Yeah, I think my parents do that all the time! Or at least my mom and her sisters do. And then I'll ask them what they're talking about and they'll be all "Oh, nothing!" Yup, knowing another language is definitely useful in messing with your kids' minds!

Ahh, that's cool! I know a lot of people with the same background. I'm korean.. so there were a few classes .. just wasn't too motiviated to do it.

The language tapes or even the computer software (I think there are some out there...) is kind of a nice way to learn the language. You get to hear how it's supposed to be pronouced - which is key. Course, you have family that can help you along with that. :)

Which brings up another thing, its nice to have like an official teacher or something, but I don't like the fact that it would affect your GPA adversely if you do lousy on it. It would end up being too much effort for something you're just doing for "fun".

And I guess I could ask the family to teach me stuff, but for some reason it would just feel really weird. I don't know why. Its like I see myself at the dinner table saying, "Oh, by the way, could you teach me your language?" and then the loud record screech sound happenning and everyone staring at me dumbfounded.

Good point. Sucks that one has to worry about GPA at all, especially since it would be nice to be able to take some classes that have nothing to do with your major - just to learn or for fun. Probably another reason why I didn't do it..subconsiously.

heh. Yea, I see your point. That wouldn't be too much fun. :P Although would they be happy that you're interested in learning? I'm not sure how my parents would react if I asked them to do the same... probably surprised!

Yup, its too bad they don't give you a bunch of free credits that you can play around with that won't count towards your GPA. That way you can experiment and expand your horizons without worrying about it screwing up your normal academic track. I mean, as long as you're paying for it, why should the university people care, right?
