Gah, haven't updated in a while. And pathetically, its because I've been too busy playing video games on my off days. My C class ended early on Wednesday. Had a quick lunch and went home to finish Onimusha 2. Beat it, cursed up a storm trying to finish "the man in black" mini game (which I eventually did) and started the game over to get more scenarios. Also picked up my own copy of Onimusha 2 as well as the strategy guide at Media Play thursday so I could give Chris his back. And dang, the media play cutie has a boyfriend. Owel. Later on, went up to Cobb so Krug could drop off his car for a check-up, and hit Williamson's Brothers afterwards with Charlie and Joseph. Finally had the secret "all you can eat" deal. Its not on the menu. Go there and ask for it. Its all you can eat BBQ, except ribs, and you can switch out the meats each time the waitress comes by. Same thing with sides, except you can't get salad. So you basically get to try almost everything on the menu for just $7.50! Anyways, we hit Cumberland mall afterwards so Krug could pick up Suikoden III. And dammit, Contra: Shattered Soldier came out, which I picked up.

Krug was a little worried when it wouldn't let him load his Suikoden II save for III, but its because he didn't save it after beating the boss. I'm not sure if I'm gonna try playing it while he's playing it. Besides, I have Onimusha 2 to complete to 100%, and I haven't even finished Tekken Force or completed all the Silent Scope 3 missions. And now I gots Contra. Damn it, I haven't played games in a while and now I've gotten sucked back in.

When did you first try this place? If I helped to influence, I'm pleased, as I didn't know you had ever been there before, and I"ve introduced several people to the glory of Williamson Bros.

I find their BBQ far superior to Spiced Right's.

I believe the first time I went there was some time back in 2000. I can't remember how we had come to hear of it Mark was still here, and I'm pretty sure it was around the time he and Jill had moved. I think the only thing Spiced Right has going for it is the different sauces (if you're into that sort of thing), since the all you can eat deal evens out Spiced Right's buffet aspect. But yeah, I like Williamson's Brothers, every so often when we're elf slaying we'd order 4lbs of Williamson's Brother's BBQ for carry out. Anyways, [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out every so often asks me to rate the big BBQ joints in Atlanta since I've been to a majority of them. Williamson's Brothers is up there, and I like Dreamland as well. The guys say Dreamland has the best Brunswick Stew, but I don't know since I don't eat Brunswick Stew. Daddy-Ds is pretty good. Fat Matt's is okay, the place is just to small, and I hate eating outdoors. And like I said earlier, the only reason I like Spiced Right is the buffet aspect and the different sauces. Variety is the spice of life after all.

Ha I feel dumb. I just hadn't heard you mention the place before and wondered if it was our visits that caused you to investigate.

Williamson Bros. actually has very mediocre, borderline bad, Brunswick stew. Hot sauce improves it immensely, but it's too tomato-y/vinegary for my tastes.

I've never been to or even heard of Dreamland.

Dreamland is this barbeque place up on Roswell Rd (I think). They have a location in Alabama also. I always get their Meat Salad, which is basically a big salad, with BBQ pork (or chicken if you so desire) piled up and high. Alas, I couldn't tell you how to get there.

i'm going to have to go back to williamson bros again one day--i've only been there one time, when we all went for mark & jill's going-away party, which would've been...jan 2001. i got ribs there which were alright, but they didn't compare to daddy d'z in my eyes...i'd be interested in the buffet though--last time we went to spiced right was downright disappointing...

dreamland was a place that originated in tuscaloosa--a place that has long been fabled as the best barbecue in the south--its branched out into other cities (birmingham, mobile, and atlanta are the only other ones, i think) but the original is the one to beat, especially as its the only one that keeps it hardcore--ribs, white bread, and sauce are the only things you can get there--the other locations (or at least the atlanta one) make it more of a typical place--i've been to the tuscaloosa one once (really good, although not my absolute fave) and the atlanta one twice (i can't take the meat salad with bleu cheese though--but its a geebs/mikeb dream, i'd imagine)...
