ME blather- One more match away from completing the drell assassin challenge, and then I just need to do the drell vanguard to get Outsider mastery. Playing with the drell assassin, I've definitely gotten better with the sniper rifle in this game. I mean, I did play an infiltrator in the normal game, and sniping has always been my bag, but as I've said before, hadn't really delved into sniping too much in mp. Before, there just seemed to be so many enemies on me since I'm playing solo that its hard to get some breathing room to make precise shots often. However, I have since gotten better at the game so its not as big an issue.

So the ex-roomie got GTA V, and said I would prolly enjoy it. I asked him if its because one of the characters has a hot teenage daughter, but he actually said it was because of the combat. He said combat has been vastly improved. I had heard such things in the review, that it basically plays like Max Payne 3. Not that I've played Max Payne 3. But I'm sure all this ME3 MP has made me better at third person shooters. I may try it at some point. The main reason I've been playing so much ME3 MP is because I want to get as much in of it as I can- even when I play solo, its being played on EA's servers. So once they shut that down, I can never play again, because there's no offline mp mode. I mean, it'll hopefully prolly be a while before they stop supporting the game, but I'd rather do all I need to do while its still available.

But I digress, I'm glad combat works better in this latest one. Of course, combat was never a problem for me in the game, it was the driving.

TV commentary:

Breaking Bad- Effin' Landry and the nazis, man! Wow, I wonder if they're trying to make Walt more sympathetic by making the Nazis (and Lydia) just way more horrible. How horrible? While Marie was at Hank's funeral, they break into her house and trash the place to find the recordings Hank, Gomez, and Jesse made. Then they watch it and laugh at Jesse crying "like a pussy" over killing Gale. But then Herc points out Jesse saying Todd killed that little kid. And at first I thought his uncle might be mad at him killing a kid, particularly since Todd left that part out when he was recounting the great train robbery near the start of the season. He's mad alright, but at Jesse since he can finger Todd for something. He's about to execute him when Todd tells him not to, because they need him to make the meth.

Jack points out they're already rich, but then they figure out he's just sweet on Lydia, and at that point they're all, "atta boy!" and decide to humor him so he can try and get in her pants. More things Todd does to impress Lydia- break into the White home and threaten Holly in front of Skylar to ensure she doesn't implicate Lydia. Apparently, that's not enough for Lydia, who is kinda neurotic, and so is paranoid that she could still be implicated. Todd still respects Walter though, so he is very reluctant to kill anyone Walter cares about, but we'll see how far that holds against his desire to eff Lydia.

Who is he not reluctant to kill? Andrea. Jesse manages to escape from his pit, but doesn't get very far before he's caught. He stupidly says they can't make him continue to cook, but what the fuck, did he forget they were never threatening him, the motivation was Andrea and Brock. So they take him to her house, Todd tricks her outside and executes her with a silenced pistol shot to the head in front of Jesse. They were sure to leave Brock alive so they still have leverage.

As for Walt's side of things, at first he wants to make plans to strike back and kill Jack and the nazis. He tries to bring Saul in with him, but Saul said he's out, its over. Saul even tries to get Walter to stay and turn himself in, because apparently his phone call last week won't be enough to save Skylar. Sure, once she's at a trial, that will prolly save her, but before then, since she's the only one left around to prosecute, they're going to put the full weight of the government down on her. Someone has to be held liable.

So, he has no choice but to go to NH and live in some cabin with no cable or phone or internet with only Saul's guy (played by Karen Cisco's dad) as occasional company every few weeks. When he finally asks the guy if he'll distribute the money in the barrel to his family when he dies, the guy is all, "I could say yes, but would you believe me?" And I don't think its in a, "Hey, you'll be dead, and we're not exactly friends, how would you know?" kinda way. More like, as Saul was saying, there's no friggin way they could ever get that money to Skylar and Flynn and Holly, the feds are watching them like hawks.

So desperate that he didn't do all this for nothing, he flees to the local town and plans to mail a box full of money to one of Flynn's friends, but when he tries to talk to Flynn, his son tells him to eff off. He's about to just give up and turn himself in, when he sees his former friends in Grey Matters doing an interview on Charlie Rose. Given his former association with them, they've been taking heat, and started making huge charitable donations to drug affected folks to kinda counteract the bad press. But then they downplay Walter's role in the formation of the company, and you know his pride! The whole Grey Matters business and how that went down was always as big a motivation as helping his family. Because he didn't just want to provide for his family, the company getting big and he becoming a mere HS teacher has always had such a huge influence on his decisions.

So that apparently just angers him and cause him to head back to Albuquerque, which as we saw in the beginning of the season, he has a machine gun and got some ricin to take care of business. I did not expect that to be the motivating factor. Like when the guy brought back papers from NM, I figured he'd find an article about Andrea's murder, and it would get the wheels spinning, and he'd figure Jesse was still alive. And he'd be mad that not onlt did the Nazis steal his money, they reneged on their deal to kill Jesse and are using him to make more blue meth and profit off what he built.
