TV commentary:
Fringe- Argh, so it finally happened! Given the two universes and multiple sets of characters, I had a feeling they were going to off one of the Lincs sooner or later. Looks like alt-Linc drew the short end of the stick.
Anyways, Lincoln is feeling all depresso because he's lost Liv to Peter and forgetting things he did for her. And I didn't get that impression last week, but in the previouslies when Walter and Lincoln were talking over chess, was Linc jealous of Walter finally embracing Peter as his son also? I mean, it seemed like when Peter was gone, Lincoln was serving as his surrogate, and did Walter and Linc have kinda a father-son thing going, so is he sad about losing that too? In any case, Lincoln feels out of place, so when Astrid comes in sad that she has to go to the alt-verse for a debrief when she had plans to spend the weekend with her dad, he volunteers to go in her stead.
Heh, so now that Olivia is unavailable, he has the hots for Fauxlivia now? Since he's bored and wants to spend time with Red, he tags along with her and Lincoln-Bee on a case. Wherein we find out the alternate universe has no Batman. Instead, they have the Mantis. (Or did they mean, M.A.N.T.I.S?) Did he fall into a cave full of Mantises when he was a kid? Which I'll admit, if I fell into a cave full of Mantises a la Temple of Doom, I would have freaked the effin-eff out, way more than I would about a bunch of bats. Even though Bats would prolly be the more dangerous thing to encounter. But I digress.
So he's crushing on Fauxlivia, and quizzing alt-Linc on his life story, because he's all confident and cool, and he's trying to figure out where their paths diverged. But as far as they can tell, they pretty much had the same life. Of course, they don't take into account that their worlds are different, and maybe all these disasters and freaks of the week and the threat of annihilation from a mysterious alternate universe made him step up. And if things where as bleak on Lincoln's earth, maybe he would've stepped into a hero role. But, alt-Linc doesn't believe in the whole product of your environment thing, he's all, you see the person you want to be and be it.
Anyways, they're hunting down one of the new-style shifters, and manage to capture him. Lincoln feels he's not a bad guy, particularly since the shifter had him dead to rights and spared him. They report in to Broyles, who secretly warns alt-Nina who dispatches an assassin to kill the shifter. Lincoln has a convo with the shifter, telling him he knows he doesn't want to be a killer and he knows people who can help him. On the way to transfer the shifter, the assassin snipes at him, but hits alt-Linc instead. Fauxlivia shows off those Olympic marksmanship skills previously alluded to and takes out the assassin with a really hard shot.
Lincoln gets the shifter to take the assassin's form so they can get to alt-Nina (and WTF, it depresses me that there were a bunch of people on the forums who didn't understand that's what happened, they were all, I thought alt-Liv killed that dude?!) So the alt-Fringe team is happy about that, but then they learn alt-Linc died on the operating table.
Fauxlivia is devastated, and after Linc takes the shifter back to Peter and Walter to study, he goes back to the other side to comfort her. Although, isn't that kinda crass? I mean, he's being a nice guy, but at the same time, he definitely wants to get with her, so is he sure he doesn't have any ulterior motives here. I mean, he looks like the guy she's all sad about losing, and his head is mucked up over Olivia and she looks just like her. I'd be surprised if they didn't get drunk after and bang.
Degrassi- So Imogen and Eli are back to being just friends, but you knew that was coming from the promos showing him and Claire and her and Fiona. And even though Zig did a nice thing to try to make things up to Tori, he still seems like a little a-hole. And thankfully, they didn't drag out KC's Quinn-esque storyline, and he realized what an insane nutjob he was being and dropped it.
