geebsBehaviors of mine that people think are weird and crazy but I think make sense: Putting my radio station presets in ascending order. i.e. preset 1 is the lowest station, preset 2 the next one in the band and so forth. So yes, that does mean if I find a new favorite in between two presets I shift the presets around so they're in order. I don't see what the problem with that is! I think this way its easier to remember which preset is which. I think people who haphazardly just put any station on whatever button are the crazy ones. Its so unordered! Like I'll fiddle with the radios on the vans in the motor pool, and I'll press one and its 105.7, and then 2 is like 93-something, but then three is 104.whatever, and like how can you stand the stations not being in order!?
TV commentary:
Being Human- Interesting episode this week! Sally gets the light plot this week. The reaper's still haunting her and she's doing her best to ignore him. Then she finds out from Aiden and Josh that the girl she possessed checked herself into the psych ward. So, with some help from Nora (more on that later), she convinces her she's not crazy and apologizes for the whole possession thing. This seems to help somewhat, as by the end of the ep she doesn't need to turn the TV all the way up to drown out the Reaper.
So things are getting to a good place with Josh and Julia. He resolves to have a big dinner with her and Aiden (who decides to bring along Suren to get her used to his non vampire friends) because he wants to be able to hang out with all the people he cares for without it being awkward. Dinner starts out incredibly awkward. (Heh, my favorite bit of awkwardness, when Suren was all, "Josh, you're very clean for your kind!" and Julia thinks she's being all racist or something and is all, "What do you mean his kind, Jewish?!" Which wait, Josh is Jewish?! In any case Aiden saves it by saying Suren meant like dudes, he's clean for a guy)
But then they bond over Antiques Road Show. But then Suren brings up that she knows Aiden and Julia had a thing, because she's "smelled" Julia on Aiden before. (Josh and Sally told Aiden to tell Suren beforehand, but he never got the chance) At first, they're all freaked she's about to like cut Julia's throat or something. But Suren says its fine, since she and Aiden weren't together at the time. But if they were, the conversation would've gone much differently.
So with things starting to go right for Josh and Julia, that's of course when Nora decides to show up. After that, Julia thinks maybe they should slow down and back up a bit, because Nora still has a thing for him. Which irks Josh, so he's not wanting to see her, and even gets mad when Nora helps Sally, because he thinks she's using Sally to get on his good side.
In the end, cooler heads prevail, and they talk. Heh, turns out even though Connor was the big tool, it was actually Brynn who was the really monstrous one, and he was keeping his sister in check, not vice-versa. But, Nora shares she learned from Brynn how to break the curse. He has to kill Ray while they're both in human form. He doesn't want to, because that would make him a murderer. Nora's happy at this, because even though she knew (hoped?) that would be his answer, she still felt she had to tell him. Of course, Josh was wondering why didn't she do that to him to free herself from the curse. Well, for one thing, it seemed like she liked the whole wolf thing, that's why they had a falling out. Though I guess she's feeling quite ill over the things she's done since. But more importantly, she still loves Josh, so she's not going to kill him.
In Aiden's plot, Mother finally arrives in town. Unfortunately, things don't go as he and Suren hoped. Mother still wants Suren to lead Boston, so she's stuck there for however long her mom wants her to be there. Even though Suren's been doing good these past few months, it doesn't make up for centuries of disappointment. And worse yet, she grants Aiden the "freedom" he's so desperately seeking. By banishing him from the vampire world. Which also means he and Suren can no longer see each other.
Needless to say, Aiden's pissed. Pissed enough to be all suicidal and try and take Mother on. Its interesting though, even though Mother seems to be utterly disappointed in Suren, she really does seem to care for her daughter. Because right when she's ready to tear out Aiden's throat, she sees the sadness in her daughter's eyes and actually stays her hand.
After the exile, Aiden goes to Henry to get a message to Suren. He asks his childe if he can trust him, because every time Aiden has, Henry's screwed him over. Henry says he can, and apparently Aiden has never learned his lesson, but more on that later.
He and Suren meet, and they decide to run off together. So, he says a tearful goodbye to Sally and Josh. They both say they'll always be there for him, and Sally hilariously is a little dickish here (though she doesn't intend to, because its an otherwise sweet sentiment)- she's all, "well, Josh actually won't always be here for you, because he's mortal and will die. But since I'm a ghost, I will, so let's see each other in a couple hundred years, maybe!" Like I said, the whole friendship of the ages thing is sweet, but did she really have to be all, too bad for Josh, he's not immortal like us!
Alas, when Aiden and his princess go on the run, turns out life on the run might not be all its cracked up to be for Suren. She's a friggin vampire princess! Living in hiding in hovels? She tells Aiden, he may have overestimated her resolve. He goes to get her food, but on the way back he's ambushed by Henry and a couple of nobodies. Actually, while it does seem Henry is screwing him over again, I'm actually going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I mean, when Henry approached Aiden, it was very cold and devoid of connection- he was just "You didn't think we would let you just run away, did you?" I mean, given their history, if Henry was going to betray Aiden like that, I figure it would be more wordy, more taunting. I guess we'll see next week.

Date: 2012-03-27 05:15 pm (UTC)But when I swap out a new station to one that went away or that I got sick of, it is much easier to remember my way. Because everything else stays the same. There's nothing new to learn. My numbers 5 and 6 have remained unchanged on my car for as long as I've had it. When you rearrange shit, you have to re-learn what is on what button for possibly every one of your presets.

They don't call their station by its number so how would I even know which button to push if I wanted it, if I were to order my presets by FM# instead of how much I like them? Especially if a person shifts their presets around when adding a new one.
