geebsSo today's writer's block question on LJ is: What is the best song of 2010?
Well, if by asking what I think is the best they mean my favorite song of 2010, I can't decide between Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" or Taylor Swift's "Mine". I know, what am I, a lame tween girl?
Interesting, I did not realize Leighton Meester look-alike Tori Black had finally done "certain things". spcv('Nice!')
TV commentary:
Smallville: Argh, they do have a reunion of sorts finally, actually managing to get Black Canary, but they had fake stand-ins for Impulse and Cyborg to stand in the background. Like really, what are the Beav and Jett Jackson doing nowadays anyways? Oh, I guess Cyborg is on Rizzoli and Isles. Did that show not get canceled? Alas, no Martian Manhunter, or Aquaman, or more importantly, his hot-ass wife Mara or Zatanna. Though I think they also had a Zatanna stand in because I saw someone in the background in fishnets. The whole "superhero registration act" or whatever the hell they're calling it here turning the world into a Nazi police state (complete with police dressed as Nazis) was a little heavy handed. And why the hell where they interrogating Tess, Lois, and Emil at the Daily Planet? Don't they have detention centers for that sorta thing?
Owel, so much for Hawkman! Though wonder what the whole thing that stunned all the heroes at his funeral was? Did the bad guys set a trap there? Is is someone else?
Supernatural: Hey, Tess the Reaper! Its always nice to see her fine ass around. So to get Sammy's soul back, Death makes Sam be him for a day. Like it wasn't obvious the way Dean focused on that nurse's nametag that she was gonna end up dying when Dean refused to kill cancer girl! But wow, he gets the nurse killed, but he still has to kill cancer girl or it was gonna continue to eff up the grand design? Though if as Tess said, the nurse was supposed to live a long life with plenty of kids and grandkids, I would think the grand design is effed up enough with that whole line snuffed!
But even though Dean ends up failing Death's test, it was just to prove a point, and Death re-ensouls Sammy. While unsouled Sammy was kinda a riot, the whole being a soulless sociopath was starting to get pretty dangerous for them, given his willingness to off them if he thinks it would be convenient in the scheme of things.
And wow, Dean is dense! I hope he gets what a significant clue Death was giving about human souls. I mean, if the angels think they're a hot commodity and are making deals to get them like the demons are, hopefully he'll believe death and realize that's something they should start to research.
Misftits- Aww, I've actually liked how this Simon/Alisha thing has been going. I mean, its kinda sad for Alisha though. While she and present Simon are starting to grow closer (and her being the shy and unsure one and trying not to let on how much she loves him is very cute), since Simon doesn't feel that way about her yet, she has to sit idly by while he gets with that other girl. Though Future Simon did apologize in advance about it!
I do also like the friendship brewing between Nate and Simon as well. I mean, Nate is still kinda a dick to him, but they're definitely friendlier than last season. But heh, Kelly ends up screwing a monkey-man, and Curtis reaches the point in his future vision when their powers were reversed. I had a feeling that was gonna be soon, since British TV seasons are short and they don't set things up too far ahead since they also don't have as many seasons. But yeah, amusing that it was just a costume party, and they weren't actually running around as costumed heroes.
Also, since when does "fancy dress party" mean "costume party"? Like when Simon's gf first talked about it, I was thinking fancy gowns and suits, not people dressing up like apes and cowgirls and superheroes!
