Dec. 1st, 2010 09:22 amBeing semi in-charge of things (well, half, and I'm not sure people actually realize it) for a few days, and that's when all sorts of big and bad problems spring up? cliffV('What's up with that?!') I think this is the first time I've had to spin something totally on my own without feedback. But I think I know the cardinal rules when it comes to that.
TV Commentary:
Sons of Anarchy- mnsv('What a twist!') So was the rest of the club in on Jax's plan all along, or did he bring them into it midway through when he realized he couldn't get over on her alone? I wanna say it was their plan from the beginning. But what a coup, he gets the club short time, plus they off both Stahl and Jimmy O.
Although they act like everything is hunky dory at the end, but will it be? I mean, since they were in custody at the time, they (well, those that were in the van) shouldn't be considered suspects for Stahl and Jimmy O's deaths. But I wasn't sure what the symbol Chibs drew on the car at the end, was that saying they did it, or was he trying to make it look like it was the IRA? if it is the former, wouldn't the ATF still be on the club closely? I mean, they just lost 2 agents to gang violence in a short amount of time, I would think the ATF would be on their ass after this? EDIT: Okay, reading the TWoP recaplet, that symbol was Chibs framing the IRA. If so, is the IRA fine with them killing an ATF agent and blaming it on them? Plus, didn't they want Jimmy for themselves, are they fine with Chibs killing him, particularly since they just made that deal?
In any case, Stahl and Jimmy O get murdered in a pretty brutal fashion- they were straight up executed, its not like Stahl was killed in a shootout. Won't they be suspicious Unser only got a punch to the face? But I guess he might not care, he's on his last legs, and Charming PD seems to be on the way to being disbanded.
And despite their "win", there's still a lot they have to deal with- the aforementioned Sheriff's office taking over for Charming PD, plus all Hale's schemes. The Russians had to run away this time, but I assume they'll be pretty pissed about getting screwed over like that. And Tara ended up reading the letter from Maureen implicating Clay and Jemma in Jax's dad's deaths (Wait, all this time and Jax hadn't unpacked yet?!). I assume there's gonna be a time jump, since most of the cast is in jail right now? We might come back with them out of jail and Tara's baby being born?
Glee- Hmm, I can't see how anyone can think the Warbler's version of "Hey, Soul Sister" was terrible. Blaine sounded fine to me, it seems like people who didn't like it just don't like the song. I guess they complained about the choreography as well, but that was the whole point- they specifically said in the beginning that the Warblers were a more traditional choir and Will said ND should try to showcase their dancing to beat them, as that's their weakness. Which is interesting given last season, it seemed New Directions' thing was their singing and Vocal Adrenaline was all about the fancy dancing.
Anyways, more on the ND/Warblers tie. So will Regionals have 4 teams then, VA, ND, Warblers, and some other random team? Because last year, I assume Regionals was the winners of three different sectionals, so if ND and the Warblers tie, they would be representing their section, and VA would be representing theirs, so there should still be a third section.
Speaking of, I do find the whole "the hipsters should've won" comment silly. Sure, they actually did a good job, but its still a TV show. Its not a suspension of disbelief thing, its a storytelling thing. ND are the protagonists of the story, so of course its going to follow them. And if they lost, the story is over. And honestly, its not like the Hipsters were so good that they were robbed. They had a nice schtick, but I still think ND and the Warblers were better. I do feel sorry for them, because they're basically the only losers. And I'm sure they're thinking age-ism and they only lost because they're old-ass.
