TV Commentary:
Misfits- Whaatttt?! So Super-Hoodie is... Future Simon?! Its pretty neat how he seems much more bad-ass in that persona. And what's with people thinking he also has the power of super-aiming just because of the paper airplane thing (though that would mean he hit Kelly in the eye on purpose, which is an a-hole thing to do, she could've gone blind!) and being able to throw the peanut in tattoo guy's mouth? I am kinda curious if the future versions of them have more/different powers.
I mean, Curtis' power is useful, but it doesn't seem to mesh with him wandering around rooftops like Batman in the future. And we haven't seen future Simon use his invisibility. Has he just not had occasion to use it? And why is he immune to Alisha's power now?
In any case, the show would have you believe future Simon came back to the present to right some great wrong, possibly save Alisha from dying as they seem to be an item. But part of me thinks it could be a trick and he's a villain and he's trying to manipulate things to some end.
Glee- So heh, I'm amused the whole Santana-Finn thing came out right at the beginning. Given the set list for this ep and people like Tina and Santana and Quinn and Sam getting leads, I figured it would come out at an inopportune time and Rachel would have a hissy fit or be distraught and not be able to sing. But the whole Emma suggesting Will changing things up as the reasoning is pretty interesting.
Hmm, and who would've thunk that Dalton Academy isn't going perfectly like Kurt hoped? I think part of him was hoping he'd have a bigger role with the Warblers, but as Blaine said, they're very team oriented, and they're not to keen on him coming in and trying to be a star. But as Kurt said, he's used to having to fight to be heard in Glee club, and he's someone who likes to flaunt individuality, but its a school that wears uniforms! The Warblers are all about harmonizing. (and weird, so wrestler chick Lauren has taken his place?)
But aww, with Rachel having Finn troubles (and ooh, we do get a little bit of Puckleberry with Puck being there for her!) and not getting solos, and Kurt not getting a solo either, it was a sweet moment them being very much friends. (Also, Rachel mouthing at Kurt to smile during the Warbler's performance is also cute)
Also cute? Britney and Artie. Like it wasn't obvious that Tina was wrong when she thought Mike and Brit were cheating on them with each other. Though while the situation was adorable, its also slightly creepy, its like that episode of HIMYM a few weeks ago, where Brit is a little too child like.
Anyways, I like how this time Sectionals is just a true competition, no other teams cheating, just a contest of talent. The Hipsters are actually pretty good, I thought they'd end up being jokes given they were old people. And the Warbler's version of "Hey Soul Sister" was pretty good. Between this and "Teenage Dream", I'm liking Darren Criss' performances so far.
And heh, is the starting at the back and going through the audience ND's thing? Though its Quinn and Sam this time, doing "I've Had the Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing, followed by a Santana solo(!) of "Valerie". Although it was Brit and Mike's dancing that really made that number.
Although what a cop-out, ND and the Warblers tied for 1st, so they're both going to Regionals? Which I guess makes Regionals a New Directions-Vocal Adrenaline-Warblers showdown? But wow, and that was the only first of many surprises! Emma and Carl get married! Rachel made out with Puck so Finn dumps her! Sorry to say it, but it wasn't the same as the Finn-Santana thing because Finchel weren't together at the time! But I like that Puck was the one to stop it because he didn't want to do that again. And again, Rachel had to know that would really hurt given what happened with Puck and Quinn. Though in her defense, I don't think she purposely picked Puck because that would hurt Finn the most- I mean, there were more than a few Puckelberry moments in this. Like Santana saying everyone hates her and only pretend to like her, and Puck admits he likes her. So I think it was Puck because they still have a connection there.
Also, the little bird didn't die! Tina and Mercedes get a number at the end (Florence + The Machine's "Dog Days Are Over").
