Friday Night Lights- You know, if they were gonna continue to follow Julie even though she's no longer in Dillon, they could've at least given her a better storyline.
Hmm, they're really setting up trouble between Vince and Luke. Luke's finally all happy that a college is noticing him and not Vince, but apparently it was all a trick to get to Vince? Although I'm kinda confused why they had to go through the charade of saying they're interested in Luke? So they could ambush him without someone like Coach around to rope him in?
But while football seems to be going well for him, his personal life is starting to suffer. He still doesn't trust his dad, which is breaking his mom's heart, because she's still clearly in love with him. (And if I may disagree with
clevemire, when he threw in Vince's mom into that category on the Cleveland show when one of the characters jokingly said the chicks he would do from FNL would be the lady mayor or Saracen's grams, Vince's mom is way more doable than them!) Also, he's getting into arguments with Jess because she wants to be one of the guys, and wants to help the football team other than being a cheerleader or rally girl (which she did by figuring out a problem Tinker has been having on the snap, which Billy brought to Coach and took credit for, though not in an evil way, and she was just happy that her idea was right and that she was able to help). Hmm, with basketball guy obviously interested in her, wonder if there'll be a triangle there.
Which brings up the potential for Vince to have more problems with his team, with him being the star, and the foreshadowing of Luke being resentful and Basketball guy (whose name I do not remember) possibly stealing Jess.
Call me lame, but the whole thing with Becky and the Rigginses had me all verklempt. Truthfully, while I can get all ghey over the shippy stuff on shows, its actually the family/friends always being there for each other which really gets me. It is funny how Mindy was all mad about having to deal with Becky, but she's grown a soft spot for her, and decides to take her in indefinitely and telling Billy how they have to be role models for her (and how he better not perv on her, which I don't think he ever would on account of him never doing something like that to Tim) And you can tell Becky is really grateful, its the first time she feels she has a family that cares about her. I just found the whole scene with Mindy coming back from the strip club totally hilarious, particularly her total disdain of being offered "day shift". I guess it actually is appropriate Mindy is taking a shine to Becky, since she's basically Tyra 2.0.
I guess this Epic girl will be Tami's project. Obviously, with this being the last season, the Lions have to win. But will Tami also manage to fix this girl? It looks like Tami's struggling to make things work and "un-jade" her co-workers, but she's slowly getting there.
Also troubled? Buddy Jr, who is a little prick! Although can Buddy really fault him for saying Tami has a great rack? I mean, its disrespectful, but its true! (And I still amuses me how the most mother-daughter unifying trait of Tami and Julie is their awesome racks. I mean, I don't think it was the show's intention to cast it that way, but it is hilarious that it worked out that way!) Hmm, looks like all it took was for Buddy to literally knock some sense into his son to get him on the path to not being a punk a-hole. Coach, seeing how much help Buddy needs, decides to let Buddy Jr on the team. Hey, Landry eventually became a star, and at least Buddy Jr has it in his genes.
