TV Commentary:
The Office- Heh, the ep is about them having a Glee viewing party? So they were watching Duets, but they also changed things around and made things up, like making up a number about them doing "Blinded the Light" with an actual blind guy, and saying that Dianna Agron was in a couple of eps of Friday Night Lights?! Not cool with Michael cutting the cable though! I might kill him if that were me! But aw, I thought the whole thing with Erin wanting Michael and Gabe to get along because she sees him as a surrogate father was kinda cute.
The Vampire Diaries- Wow, I guess its not the Vampire Diaries if you're not totally shocked at the end. So Elena goes to see Kat and gets the 411 on her back story. Kat had a kid out of wedlock, so her parents disowned her. She moved to England, where she caught the eye of Klaus, because her ancestors where the ones who did the curse (or is it curses?) and for some reason that means someone like Katherine would be born that could be used to break the curse? Interesting, from last week, I thought maybe Trevor offered to turn Kat into a vamp to get her out of it, but it looks like she did it on her own. First by wounding herself badly so Rose would heal her so she would be intact when Rose turned her over to Klaus, and then while Rose and Trevor were arguing, she killed herself, and then when she came back, another distraction allowed her to kill Rose's thrall to complete the transformation.
But in addition to bleeding a doppleganger over the moonstone, it also requires a witch to do the spell, and a vampire and a werewolf to sacrifice. Kat was gonna use Bonnie, Caroline, and Tyler for that. But now that that plan's over with and Klaus is prolly on their trail, Kat tells Elena they're all dead (well, they're dead, Kat is safe in the tomb). So Elena feels all guilty because now all this trouble isn't because she fell for Stefan but just by virtue of being herself, because of her bloodline. Which I guess is traced back to Kat's illegitmate child, as Klaus (or perhaps his top soldier Elijah) actually slaughtered her whole family, because that's just how he rolls when people screw with him.
The other thing about the curse and why Klaus wants to break it even though he, like the rest of the Originals, prolly has a ring and can walk in the daylight already, is that if one side breaks it, then the other side can never break it. So he's basically breaking it just so the werewolves can't break it for themselves, even though they're mostly extinct.
Other happenings? Caroline and Stefan continue to bond when she tries to distract him from finding about Elena's meeting with Kat. (Ha, it was hilarious when he figures her game, and his first thought was that Elena was with Damon) They continue to have a nice friendship going, with him saying she reminds him of Lexi. Weird, she's been mentioned a lot these past few eps.
Damon and Rose got to visit the contact she used to reach out to Elijah, some scholar type. He provides some info, but then Elijah busts down the protective sun-screening window of the guy's shop to terrorize them, since they don't have rings like Damon. Looks like Damon just missed seeing Elijah, or if he did see him, he thinks he might've been seeing things since Eli disappeared pretty quickly. Anyways, Rose freaks out about this, as now she's sure they're as good as dead. Then, later that night, they totally get it on.
The Germ gathers up the courage to ask Bonnie if she wants to hang. She still finds it weird since he's Elena's little brother. It goes well, until new guy in town Luka shows up with his professor dad. Luka eventually reveals to her that he and his dad are warlocks, and Bonnie thinks its nice to meet a guy who's like her. Jeremy sees them together and decides to leave, all sad.
But! In the end, Rose's friend calls saying he has a way to prevent the curse from being broken, they just need the moonstone and a witch. Of course, he was only saying that because Elijah told him to. Not through threats, but apparently Originals can compel other vampires. So, Elijah tells the guy to stake himself, and he does. Then! Luka's dad shows up from the other room asking if that was really necessary. So he's in league with Elijah? Wonder if Luka is in on it to?
