Oct. 19th, 2010 08:26 amHave I mentioned how much I love my new phone? And the swype keyboard is not as hard to use as I thought it would be. But I still like that it has a normal keyboard as well. Anyways, I just set up the phone to use the wireless here at work, and testing out the lj client for android. It works, but I just realized it doesn't look like I can tag stuff. But I suppose it can work in a pinch.

Date: 2010-10-23 07:18 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, technically the phone can support tethering (using it as an internet connection for your laptop), but T-mobile has turned that feature off for now. But the guy at the store said T-mobile may re-activate it via system update at some point in the future.
Oh, it has a foldout keyboard (though it has a touchscreen keyboard as well). I know some people just want the touchscreen, so I don't know if that's a turn off for you. BTW though, T-mobile is releasing a couple of other new phones in November- the newest version of the Mytouch, which is comparable to the G2, the only features it has over the G2 is no keyboard (again, if you're someone who just wants a touchscreen) as well as a front facing camera in addition to the normal camera. And there's also the HD7, which is the newest model of the phone you currently have, it runs the new Windows Mobile 7 operating system. That's a new OS though, so I don't know how it compares to android. But it basically has the same capabilities, just running a different OS. Like I said, though, if T-mobile turned off tethering on the G2, these other phones might not be able to do tethering either.
