Have I mentioned how much I love my new phone? And the swype keyboard is not as hard to use as I thought it would be. But I still like that it has a normal keyboard as well. Anyways, I just set up the phone to use the wireless here at work, and testing out the lj client for android. It works, but I just realized it doesn't look like I can tag stuff. But I suppose it can work in a pinch.

hey ant, how is the g2? Im planning on getting it. I have the hd2 right now, and i kinda like it, mainly because of the internet sharing it has and i can connect to the internet with my phone on my laptop. Can the G2 do that? and are the apps good?

Its pretty good. Its running android, so it can use any of the droid apps out there, of which there are many. And its got all the typical smartphone features nowadays, gps, wi-fi, and can get on T-mobile's new high speed network.

Unfortunately, technically the phone can support tethering (using it as an internet connection for your laptop), but T-mobile has turned that feature off for now. But the guy at the store said T-mobile may re-activate it via system update at some point in the future.

Oh, it has a foldout keyboard (though it has a touchscreen keyboard as well). I know some people just want the touchscreen, so I don't know if that's a turn off for you. BTW though, T-mobile is releasing a couple of other new phones in November- the newest version of the Mytouch, which is comparable to the G2, the only features it has over the G2 is no keyboard (again, if you're someone who just wants a touchscreen) as well as a front facing camera in addition to the normal camera. And there's also the HD7, which is the newest model of the phone you currently have, it runs the new Windows Mobile 7 operating system. That's a new OS though, so I don't know how it compares to android. But it basically has the same capabilities, just running a different OS. Like I said, though, if T-mobile turned off tethering on the G2, these other phones might not be able to do tethering either.

Hey, just as an update, the new OTA came out for the G2, and it does support tethering now. Also, since t-mobile has yet to set their tethering plans, its free for now.

oh wow, that hd7 sounds good, i might wait for that. I like the windows mobile operation system. I think the hd7 might still have the internet sharing since my old phone the tmobile dash had internet sharing. what website you go to for info on future tmobile phones and such?
