TV Commentary:

Glee- Wow, this Heh, I'm amused at the glee kids' excitement at this "Breadsticks" place. But, lots of continuity this ep! So turns out Burt talked to Carol and found out Finn's side of the story and how Kurt was crushing on Finn. And as always, Burt is the voice of reason. Yes, Kurt should be allowed to walk openly in the hallways with someone he loves and loves him, his father isn't saying he shouldn't. But the key here is someone who feels the same way he does about them. Yes, its ridiculous for these homophobes who assume just because a guy is gay they're going to hit on them. And although Kurt denies he's doing this, he was totally hitting on a straight guy last year with Finn.

The jury is out on Sam initially, as he's putting the moves on Quinn, but there was a moment there during Kurt's performance (Le Hot Jazz) where it seemed like Sam might not be totally hetero. Kurt does give Sam a break and ends up doing a duet with himself, while Rachel and Finn, wanting to make Sam like Glee club by manipulating things so he'll win the duet contest push Quinn and Sam together. They (S&Q) do a really nice and earnest version of "Lucky". Meanwhile Rachel and Finn were originally gonna do Elton John/Kiki Dee classic "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart", but since Rachel is actually nice this week and came up with the whole propping up Sam thing for the good of the team and taking the loss. So she and Finn do an inappropriate version of "With You I'm Born Again" (which actually wasn't released as I was unaware this was gonna be in this ep. Boo!) were she is dressed like a school girl and Finn is dressed like a priest to offend everyone.

Sam and Quinn do win (though only because everyone voted themselves, except for Finchel, who vote for Sam and Quinn), and they go on a date to breadsticks, where we find out Sam went to an all-boys school, and Quinn determines he's most likely gay. Still, I don't think she presses it. So is there a Quinn-Sam-Kurt triangle in the future?

But wow, this ep has straight and gay all over the place- they actually acknowledge the Britanna thing with Santana and Britt making out together. But then Brit gets jealous when Santana chooses Mercedes for the duet contest (which to be fair, Santana and Mercedes performance was really damn good, their voices complemented each other well), so she pairs off with Artie. Which Artie is fine with, because he's wanting to make Tina jealous (as Tike are having problems because she wants to do some non-Asian stuff once in a while). Still, Mike and Tina give a really cute performance with "Sing!" from A Chorus Line. And holy cow, Brit devirginizes Artie!!!

And it looks like it isn't just a thing to make Santana jealous, she seems to legitimately have a thing for Artie. But unfortunately Santana is actually jealous, so she tells Artie Brit was just using him for his voice. And the whole sex thing was a big thing to Artie, because after his accident, they weren't sure he could do it. But he could, and he was thankful, so he wanted it to be special, and they rushed right over it. So interesting, with Brit looking wistfully at Artie at the end (and actually doing the Lady and Tramp meatball thing she was talking about!) are they gonna do a Santana/Brittany/Artie triangle.

In the end, Rachel does notice Kurt is sad and is nice to him (which is refreshing to see Rachel not being a total bitch) and they do a sweet duet mashup of "Happy Days/Come On Get Happy".

Weird, I wonder why Puck wasn't in this ep? Well, they said he was in juvie, but I'm kinda curious why he was totally absent, I think that's the first time one of the main kids wasn't even seen.

Overall, this is the best ep this season- the performances were great and the storylines were well done, and best of all, Rachel is back to being likable.
