geebsSo I finally signed up for Miso. Hey, its like 4square, but for couch potatoes. (Don't worry, I didn't set it to crosspost to Facebook. But I did set it for Twitter!) Alas, I don't have a phone that can get the Miso app, so functionality is limited- I mean, I'm usually at a computer when I'm watching TV, so I can sign in to TV shows. But if I'm out seeing a movie, I can't sign in.

clevemire why Al Bundy couldn't do golf and church. I mean, he could go to a 930 mass like I do, and still have the whole day ahead of him. But then he remarked about early tee time, so I said, then he could do the 5pm mass. So he was all, "There's a 5pm mass?" And then when I told him how many Catholic masses there were on Sunday, he was incredulous. So he was all, "Was it a small church?" And I did a head count today, and there were about 350-400 people there, and there are 4 English speaking masses- 730, 930, 1130, and 1730, but I'm sure the 730 doesn't have nearly that much.
At first he thought it was because it was mostly hispanics, but they have their own masses- there's 3 Spanish masses on Sunday in addition to the 4 English ones (which are prolly 50% white, 40% black, 10% other). I guess he didn't realize that there were so many Catholics around here since the south is Protestant-land. Oh, I forgot to mention they had a new cute young lead singer chick last week, but alas, she wasn't the cantor this week.
After church, went grocery shopping, then got a samich at Firehouse subs for lunch. As I said previously, they have a freestyle machine. Since those are around in more places, I've actually been using them to get half-cherry coke/half-lime coke. Its like cherry-lime aid, but coke-y!
Within the past week, details have been released on Colt's new modular carbine, the CM-901. I think this is a smarter choice for our military than some of the other new weapon systems out there like the SCAR or the ACR or any of the HK systems, logistically. I mean, since it is an AR-type system, all our soldiers are already familiar with the weapon, so they don't have to be trained on a new weapon. And unlike the HK-416/417, the CM901 can use any of the uppers already in the military inventory, so there's a lot of parts commonality. So if they go this route, they don't have to ditch the parts from the older M4s/M16s. And is it me, or does the sound of a burst of 7.62mm sound sweet?
So a few more characters were announced for Marvel vs Capcom 3 at the NY comic con- On the Capcom side, you have Arthur from Ghouls & Ghosts/Ghosts & Goblins, and the Bionic Commando. Marvel gets MODOK and Magneto. Magneto is kinda cool, but the rest of those are kinda blah. I guess with cool new folks like Wesker and X-23 and Dante, we were bound to get some losers.
The upcoming multi-player for Gears of War 3 looks pretty interesting. I think the things you need for a good multiplayer FPS are: 1) a variety of weapons and powers, 2) a bunch of different "game types", 3) customization of your characters, and 4) clever "bonus melee ways" of doing your enemies in. I mean, the gun butt to the head is fine, as are stealth kills, but I do like the different melee fatalities GoW 3 has.
