TV commentary:
The Event- Wow, this is the first ep of the Event I actually legitimately liked. Maybe because it had some action, and they didn't really do the time jumping around thing. Well, except for the beginning, when they had two scenes out of order for no reason. So, we start with Sean free and heading to some motel room where he's treating a wounded Collier. But then they immediately jumped to two hours earlier, showing how they got there. What's the point of switching the order of those two scenes, other than for a cheap "What the?!" when we see Sean no longer in custody and the FBI chick wounded. Well, at least she's still breathing, unlike the rest of her colleagues at the FBI field office in Yuma- her partner died in the fortuitous car accident that allowed Sean to get free, and then when they recapture him after he infiltrated the Yuma field office after her colleagues rescued her, a couple of fake US Marshalls trying to get Sean gun all the Feebs down. But not before Sean proves something is hincky to Collier, and we find out Vicky has several identities, and might be an ex-government spook.
Oh, we also find out Sean is a juvenile delinquent genius-hacker type (who once hacked the Pentagon out of boredom), so he's not as out of his element running and hiding from federal agents.
The prez tries to get info by offering freedom to any detainee who says what's up, and one does take him up on his offer. But then he asks for his gf to be freed with him, and apparently she's not as treacherous as he is, as she stabs him to death to protect their secrets. Which, according to Sophia would prolly sign their death sentence if the government knew the truth.
Finally, the government plans to fake the plane crashing over Brazil and transporting the bodies to the crash site to cover things up. Unfortunately, the passengers all start waking up in the temporary morgue that was set up to house them.
Gossip Girl- Ooh, Blair messed up! For some reason Dan helps Blair and Serena stalk Eva online, and he discovers she used to be a prostitute. He tells Nate, who tells Chuck, who acts like he knew, and confronts her about it, but quickly forgives her for keeping that from him even though he told her all his dirty secrets. He trusts her so much he gives her $5 million to donate to the charity of her choice. Which drives Blair insane, because she takes Chuck's passport out of the package of Chuck's possessions from that body that washed up had that Lily had given to the valet and plants it in Eva's suitcase. (Or rather said she was snooping and told Chuck she found it in Eva's suitcase) So since he's been fooled and had his heart crushed in the past, immediately passed judgment and kicks Eva out. But then Lily sets him straight, and he apologizes to Eva, but its too late. She's not leaving because he called her an effin' liar, but because she can sense unresolved issues between him and Blair. Oh, great, they're back to this again?!
Anyways, Chuck confronts Blair, and she's unwilling to admit she did it because she was jealous and still loves him, so he assumes she did it to hurt him, so he declares war. Oops.
HIMYM- With today's cellphones, do people actually know other people's numbers since they don't really have to dial them in anymore, they just look them up in their address book? So I'm calling shenanigans on Robin having memorized Don's number after erasing it. But hopefully she really did get closure on Don, because the show should quit trying to make Robin/Don happen. No one liked him! They did a poor job of establishing him, and I think people would just be pissed if we find out she's with him in the future.
But overall, and amusing ep with Barney trying to woo Ted back to working on the GNB building again. Though its kinda rude that he walked out in the middle of class like that. What about all those students wanting to be architects, he kinda screwed them over. Well, except for the hot one in the lascivious sweaters, since she was busy with Barney. But that was hilarious to see what a secret perv Ted was, assuming Barney was dating her and chastising him but secretly hoping Barney was and wanting the sordid details from him.
Chuck- So the Greta thing is an ongoing joke- first Olivia Munn, then the Old Spice Guy, now Stacy Keibler. Now, do the characters on the show realize they're all called Greta, like its some sort of secret codename? So this ep has the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Nicole Richie. Apparently Nicole Richie has info on Chuck's mom, and actually helps the gang, particularly since that Russian guy is trying to kill her (having set up Hugo to be transferred along with her so he could kill her). But apparently, Volkoff was the "Russian guy" Nicole Richie was trying to sell those F-22 plans to when we saw her at Sarah's high school reunion. I wonder if that was the plan all along, or they thought, they wanted to bring her back and were all, "Wait, wasn't that guy she was gonna sell those plans to Russian? Let's connect her that way!"
House- Heh, so that author lady's book series- was it like some weird amalgam of Harry Potter and Twilight? It was interesting to see Sam get a more fleshed out personality than "Wilson's ex-wife". So she's fiercely competitive, apparently? Anyways, so House ends up telling author chick that her son died of a brain aneurysm which caused the accident he died in, so she would stop blaming herself for letting her son drive in the rain even though he only had a learner's permit. Interesting, I guess he is getting soft, having told a white lie to the patient to make them feel better so they can recover. And apparently the team has to have a chick, so House is being pressured to find a replacement for 13.
