So the ex-roomie had a cookout before the Lost finale, so got extremely stuffed on skirt steak and sausage and ribs and ice cream and peach cobbler and butter pecan ice cream pie. Also got in some Beatles Rock Banding before the Lost stuff started.

Lost- I thought it was a pretty good ending. Definitely way better than the BSG ending. I mean, I think there were plenty of things left unanswered, but the show had a satisfying conclusion. I should be sleeping right now, but looking at the forums, many people were too stupid to understand what went on there, so they were displeased. I mean, if it wasn't their cup of tea fine (and I can see some people being dissatisfied) but if you're going to hate it, at least understand it.

Anyways, people were all, they said the island wasn't purgatory, but it was. IT WAS NOT PURGATORY! The flash-sideways were purgatory, the island was still real world. And I'm just shocked and dismayed who apparently read that ending as everyone had died on Oceanic 815 when it originally crashed, and all 6 seasons were just a fantasy. Like they compare it to the St. Elsewhere autistic kid. THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED AT ALL!!!!

Everything except the sideways happened in the "real world". I thought Christian Shephard explained it pretty clearly at the end, the flash sideways were a weird construct, I dunno if its necessarily purgatory, a way for the Losties to meet up once again before they moved on to the afterlife. The whole talking about time being a meaningless concept in that place I'm pretty sure meant they all died at some point or another- some when we saw it on the show, and people like Hurley and Ben and the people who flew away on Ajira, maybe years and years from now. But anyways, when they eventually all died, they met up back together where the sideways flash, and they just had to be "pushed" to snap out of that fantasy world they've constructed so they could move on to whatever "comes next."

I mean, the ending shows Kate, Sawyer, Claire, Richard, Miles, and Lapidus get off the island just fine, and who knows how their lives turn out. Whenever they died, they showed up at the same time as people like Boone and Shannon, who died pretty early on, and Jack and the Kwons, who died close to the end. And then Ben and Hurley being all, "you were a great number one" and "you were a great number two" kinda cemented that fact, hinting that they had tons more adventures on the island before they finally kicked it.

But yeah, it seems like people thought it was all a "dream" or "purgatory" after 815 crashed initially. Which makes no sense, because people like Ben, Juliet, Penny, and Desmond weren't on the flight. Argh! I dunno why it pisses me off so much, but like I said, I'm fine with people hating the ending if they understood it and hated it regardless, but its annoying for people to think it sucks when they totally don't know what the frick is going on but think they do.

Anyways, so as I said, the flash sideways were some kinda "waiting room" for the afterlife for the Losties to meet up with, and for some do what they needed to do to be able to move on.

In the real reality, so after Jack becomes the new Jacob, he heads towards the light caves. Sawyer is all, but what about Desmond? Jack is all, Jacob never said anything about Des, but if Sawyer wants to find him sure, just meet up with them later.

So Sawyer gets to the well, and Bocaj and Ben are there, but Desmond is gone. It seems like Sawyer might be captured, but he gets the jump on them and escapes. When he gets back to his friends, he tells them Desmond is missing. Again, Jack is fine, because even if Smokey finds Desmond, they're all gonna end up in the same place anyways.

So where is old Des? It looks like Rose and Bernard broke their rule to not get involved and fished Desmond out. Unfortunately, Esau finds Vincent's tracks at the well and follows them back to Rose and Bernards hut, and threatens to gut them if Desmond doesn't come with Smokey. So he does, and sure enough, the Losties meet up with Bocaj, Ben, and Desmond.

They make their way to where the light caves are, but once they're close, only Flocke, Jack, and Des can go on. Both Jack and Flocke cockily tell each other Desmond isn't the answer the other thinks he is. Flocke is all, I'm gonna use him to sink the island, and Jack is all, I'm gonna use him to kill Esau. Turns out they'll both be right- they lower Des into the end of the light caves, and he moves some rock in the middle of a pool at the bottom, which puts out the light and appears to cause the island to start self-destructing. I believe it was Desmond unique electromagnetism things that allowed him to get close enough to move the rock. But! Whatever he did also made Flocke vulnerable. So Smokey makes his way to Desmond's boat to try and escape, but Jack hunts him down and kills him, with a little help from Kate. But not before Bocaj mortally wounds him.

Meanwhile, Miles finds Richard, who's apparently okay (and it looks like he's starting to age, so maybe he lost his immortality when Des uncorked the pool at the bottom). They head over to the Hydra to blow up the plane, but luckily on their way there they find Lapidus floating there. He tells them they don't have to blow up the plane, he can fly them out of there. So, they work on that. They eventually get a hold of the Losties and tell them they're flying out of there, they better move fast if they want to leave.

Jack says he has to stay behind to finish things, and Hurley and Ben decide to stay as well. Kate and Sawyer make their way to Desmond's boat and sail over to Hydra. They meet up with Claire who's all mopey and doesn't want to go back because she doesn't think she can be a proper mother for Aaron. Kate talks some sense into her, and they get on the Ajira flight and fly the hell out of there.

Back at the light caves, Jack makes a hesitant Hurley the new Jacob. Hurley doesn't want it and is all, "Okay, once you fix the light caves, you come back and take the Jacob job back". Jack's all, "sure buddy!" He lowers himself in and ties Desmond to the rope he used so Hurley and Ben can pull him up (not that they know that's who they're pulling up when they start trying to pull up someone they think is Jack) Anyways, since the energy in the pool is gone, Jack is able to get in there and replace the rock. Eventually the light comes back on, and he's transported back to the surface, to the lagoon. He manages to get as far as the bamboo fields before collapsing and dying from his injuries, closing in on his eye, which I guess makes an appropriate bookend to the end of the show given that's where we started. The last thing he sees before dying is the Ajira flight flying safely away.

Oh, as for Hurley, Ben, and Desmond? Hurley is all, he doesn't want to be the new Jacob, but he eventually accepts the role. But he needs help, and he thinks he can trust Ben, who is experienced enough to help him. As for Des, Ben tells Hurley that he's in charge now and making up the rules. People don't have to be trapped on the island. So, if Hurley wants to, he can prolly come up with a way to get Des back to Penny and Charlie (his son, not Charlie Pace).

But that's what happened, it was a great ride.
