TV commentary:
Lost- Amusing ep tonight.
Sideways reality: Heh, so we start off thinking Sawyer's pulling that one con off on Jodi Lyn O'Keefe. But he's not a con man, he's a cop! And Miles is his partner! Is it me, or between this and the Ben/Arzt/Locke school one, they've managed to come up with some pretty amusing sideways set ups?
Anyhoo, Miles sets Sawyer up on a date with someone who works with his dad at the museum. Its Charlotte! (Who's looking pretty smoking by the way) They have dinner, and then frak, but she accidentally finds James' file on "Sawyer" while trying to borrow a shirt, and pages through it, and Ford totally freaks out and kicks her out at 3 in the morning.
The next day, Sawyer goes to the station (and we get a quick cameo from Charlie's brother, who's looking for him after his arrest on the plane). Miles confronts him, but not about that. He thinks Sawyer's been acting suspicious after he got back from "Palm Springs", which of course he is right to, since he was actually in Australia. Sawyer doesn't fess up as to why he's down there, so Miles is all, "We're not partners anymore!"
James mopes for a while, then goes to Charlotte with a sunflower and some beer to patch things up, but she tells him its too late, he totally messed up. Then the next morning, Jimmy comes clear about the Sawyer thing, and he went to Australia to follow a lead, and learned Sawyer's real name is "Anthony Cooper". So even though Locke seems to be on friendly terms with his dad, is he still a criminal?
After the revelation, a car hits their car, apparently being chased by other cop cars. The buddy cops chase down the suspect, who turns out to be Kate. And Sawyer is practically dry humping her and eye frakking her as he restrains her. Of course, that being said, if he was a cop, why did he help her out the first time? Was it that he didn't want to arrest her and possibly learn the truth of his trip?
Island reality- Claire tries to kill Kate while Sayid looks on apathetically, but Faucke quickly put a stop to that and gives Claire a stern talking to. So, Claire ends up totally apologizing and things seem fine between them now.
Esau also starts in on the trying to win Kate over to his side business, saying the whole Claire trying to kill her was his bad, since he was the one who told Claire that the Others had her baby. But Smokey says he did it because they're in a war and he need to give her something to hate, to drive her and keep her going. Then he confesses his mom was crazy, and that's something he and Aaron have in common, since Claire is nucking futs.
He also sends Sawyer to scout out the Hydra. He meets a chick named Zoey (who was apparently on LA Law, but I know her as that chick on the ep of Wings that used to have a big thing with Brian but Joe might be the father of her baby. Oh, and the grocery store cashier Nick Cage had a thing for on Matchstick Men) who acts like she was on Ajira, and something killed the other passengers, and she's been hiding all this time. But mama didn't raise no fool, so he gets her to fess up, and a bunch of armed peeps show up from the jungle and take Sawyer to see Widimore on the sub.
Wait, so did Widimore's people slaughter the rest of the survivors? Why? Anyways, Sawyer goes on the sub and sees a mysterious locked door, but then is ushered into see Penny's dad. James says Locke sent him to recon the place, but he'll lie and tell Locke everything's clear if Widimore will kill Bocaj and let him and his friends have safe passage off the Island.
Then, he goes back to Focke and tells him he told Widimore that he was gonna lie to Smokey so they could set up an ambush, but now that they think that, Focke and his people can ambush the sub folks. But in the end, he tells Kate that he's really playing both sides, getting them to kill themselves while they escape. Kate's all, but we don't know how to fly a plane. And Sawyer's all, we're not flying, we're taking the sub. Because apparently a plane is difficult, but a sub is no problem!?
Owel, I do applaud his tactic here, I've always been a fan of the whole make two of your enemies fight it out and capitalize on the chaos method of doing things.
Going out of the cut, is it me, or is Evangeline Lilly totally friggin hot? I'd like to see a movie with her and Kate Beckinsale playing hot incestuous lesbian sisters.
Anyways, since after Rogues, Rangers, and Assassins, my next favorite classes were Monks and the Psionics, got PHB3. I mean, it also had Githzerai (which I'm surprised are not a more popular race) and Minotaurs (who I've always found to be pretty cool) as PCs. Anyhoo, the closest thing to the 3E Psionic Warrior is the Battlemind. They're kinda jedi-ish, but what I like about them is the incorporation of a lot of telepathic type tricks.
I mean, such peeps blend TK pretty well into their fighting, but mind powers are usually limited to precognition for quicker reflexes, or reading what the enemy is about to do a la Gorgon or Mr. X (who btw are pretty bad-ass looking in Secret Warriors and Thunderbolts respectively and currently) I mean, Mastermind (and his daughters) type illusory tricks are usually done in a support-type manner, kinda softening opponents up for the fighter types. But this is the first time I've seen a defender/striker type role combining such moves into their fighting. Kudos for innovation, I've never thought of using mind tricks in that manner.
Well, like I said, I've seen it, but in a support character, not as done by the person actually doing the fighting. Well, beyond doing Mirror Image or something.
