Ah, it figures that since I deferred HIMYM and Chuck to online watchery the next day instead of live/off the dvr last night, it would be the best eps of the night (Well, I haven't seen MIoBI or Secret Life yet, but I think I can confidently say they're not gonna be as good)

TV Commentary:

HIMYM- Ah, I'm glad this ep happened. As a BrOTPer, it was kinda annoying that they broke up Barney and Robin with a whimper and acted like everything was back to the way it was before they got together. I mean, I understand why they did it, because its "How I Met Your Mother", not "How your Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin got together", and they show was starting to center on them too much. But I didn't like how they ended things and then just act like nothing happened. Particularly with Barney often talking about his conquests in front of her, it was making him look like a major tool. I mean, he is Barney, but Robin is his friend, that is a dick move on his part.

But it turns out Robin was pretty broken up about their break up, and was just good at hiding it. It was definitely sad to see all those scenes where Barney is acting his usual self and they cut to Robin walking off because she can't take it. And once he found out he was affecting her, not only did he apologize, he made good on his promise not to sleep with J-Lo's character, and letting Don and Robin go on the super date instead.

I'm not liking this Don and Robin thing, and not just because of I'm a hardcore Barney/Robin shipper. Its just, why is she supposed to be with this guy? The other characters act like its obvious, but I'm not seeing it. Its a case where the show is saying not showing. You can say "Oh, X and Y are perfect together", but I want to see actual chemistry to prove this, not other characters just proclaiming it.

Maybe that's why I usually don't "ship" the main pairings on shows. Jam is an exception, but I think they did a good job of setting up their relationship. But a lot of times, they have a main guy and girl, and they're paired off because they are the main guy and girl. Like DC, Dawson and Joey felt kinda forced. She likes him, and he likes her, and the show says they're supposed to be together but it didn't really feel that way. However, Pacey and Joey exuded an incredible amount of chemistry, even before they decided to pair them together. So when they did go that route, it felt more natural, it was a pairing you could get behind.

Its like on Glee, they act like we should want to see Rachel get together with Finn. But why, he totally used her that one time and carrying on with her while he was still with Quinn is kinda a dick move, to both girls. Sure Puck started the show tossing slushies in her face, but he apologized for that, and even serenaded her and quit football for her! Did Finn ever do that? He chose football! And that wasn't even the first time he cared more about being "cool" than her- there was the yearbook photo thing. And the scene after babygate broke- Rachel and Puck shared more chemistry in that one wordless moment in the hall than she did with Finn.

Or Avatar. Why the hell would Katara all of sudden start going for Aang when prior to that she saw him as a little brother? Sure, he had a little crush on her, but there was hardly any ever evidence that she would ever think of her in that way! Zuko on the other hand, dove in front of a lightning bolt to save her? Did baldie ever do that!

I guess I've rambled on and sounded like a big nancy enough. My point is, I prefer for the show to have a pairing act like they belong together, not have people just say it, or have the audience accept it by virtue of them being the main characters!

Chuck- Woah! Talk about a game changer! So now Morgan knows the secret, and Chuck and Sarah convince Shaw not to throw him in witness protection. Okay, I've argued this before, but at this point, I don't see the problem with telling Ellie. I mean, both her brother and father are in the spy business, her husband and her brother's best friend who she's known since they were kids all now. At that point, everyone but her knows. So the danger is still the same, because even though she's clueless, she's connected to all these people who could be targets that she's practically a target herself. Might as well keep her informed so she can be more vigilant, and if they can trust Morgan, I think they can trust her.

As for the twist end, I'm not gonna say Casey is a double agent like some people on the boards are thinking. That wasn't even his phone. And sure, the ring person on the end knew his name. But it didn't seem like it was a "we are activating your double agent status" sort of thing. I think its connected to that flash from last ep where Paulie Walnuts or Edgar from 24 recognized him as some other guy. Perhaps in that guise, he did some shady stuff that the Ring will try to blackmail him with.
