Feb. 6th, 2010 04:20 pmTV commentary:
Friday Night Lights- Ohh, sometimes the rest of Dillon just pisses me off. WTF, in the beginning, when Coach is listening to that radio show and the caller was all, "He quit on the Panthers, twice!" Wasn't he basically forced out of the Panthers?! And then when Coach shows Tami the headline all "Parent calls for Principal's dismissal for forcing her views on students!' Luke's mom is a frakking krant! I know she's supposed to be all, "No comment", but I wish Tami would defend herself a little more. In no way did she ever say she was for abortion or tell Becky to get an abortion in lieu of other options! And it angers me more that even though Becky had the abortion, they're concentrating more on her following Tim like a puppy dog storyline, so it kinda makes her look like a bitch and throwing Tami, who helped her through this ordeal, under the bus for her abortion. I mean, if they actually had her be scared about the whole abortion thing, and actually is letting Tami take the fall, that would be fine. But like I said, they have her on this whole separate storyline as if this has nothing at all to do with her!
And who are these busy bodies who call some person up to call them a baby killer! Don't they have anything better to do than being judgmental pricks? But they're making her apologize for something she didn't do? Well, I guess they're pissed that she even mentioned abortion, but mentioning it and telling her to get one as they claim she did are two different things. And she didn't even bring it up, Becky did and Tami just didn't tell her absolutely not, which is again a totally different thing than what she's being accused of. But basically, she's getting screwed, because it seems the easier route is to make the bs apology even though its a lie. And I guess what really sucks is the apology saves her job, but it reinforces the whole her being an abortionist thing, so she'd still be getting grief from the rest of town.
And interesting that Vince swears Jess to secrecy on the whole being there when Calvin got shot. And its not like she doesn't know the sketchy guy showing up is wanting Vince's help in killing Calvin's killer. I wonder if he knows Landry's dad is a cop. (Heh, who I guess did try to cover up his son murdering someone!) Actually, its kinda amusing, because they portray Landry as the nice, white-bread choice for her with Vince being the ex-criminal trying to put his life back together, when of the two of them, Landry is the one who's actually killed someone! So he's telling Landry to take good care of Jess because she deserves a good man, with the implication that Vince isn't a good man because he may possibly murder someone out of revenge, as if Landry isn't a murderer! Wonder what's gonna happen from Vince walking away from that thug, when it became clear that it was more than revenge, as he also wanted to steal whatever contraband was in the house. And wait, wasn't the guy 2 and a half hours away? Did Vince walk all the way back?!
But interesting kinda leadership role there, Landry organizing the whole toothpick thing. But what the frak, the toothpick thing was annoying for the Panthers more than anything, but the Panthers went too far by doing actual damage to the Lions' field. And damn if Mccoy doesn't have a face you just want to punch with that smarmy-ass grin.
And is Luke insane?! He can play through it? Does he not remember how bad it was last game? Is he trying to ruin his career!
And wait, was Billy drinking in the delivery room, or was that after he was kicked out? If it was the former, how deliciously white trash! And "Hannibal" for the middle name? Though I'm guessing its more from the A-team, than the actual Hannibal. Looks like the Riggins' various criminal capers are catching up with them, with them being questioned on the chop-shopping. They never got any heat from the other stolen goods they've fenced.
But damn, the way things are going, its all set for another depressing end to the season, but didn't they do that last season? The Taylors got kinda screwed last season, it'll suck if that continues this season, when things didn't really go up for them this season.
