I say the original verses sound more poetic than any modernized version. I mean, obviously, a modernized version is easier to read, but some of the lines end up sounding stupid and plain!

Triple Homophones- I dunno what weird places exist where "pour" and "poor" are homophones, but they sound nothing alike to my ear!

TV commentary:

Friday Night Lights- So in the aftermath of Becky's abortion and Luke's mom finding out, she tries to get Tami fired, which is BS. I guess it is a hot-button issue, and maybe if Tami hadn't already been a controversial principal based on her past decisions, it would be a non-issue. I mean, its Luke's mom's word against hers, and as she said, she followed protocol and in know way told Becky that she told her to abort the baby rather than take other options. But I guess since she is following protocol, she can't really elaborate more on their conversation other than to say she did mention all options to her.

And Tim's rejects Alicia Witt after she drunkenly hits on him because, obviously that would be unwise, given his friendship with Becky. But then she catches them in her bed watching Thelma and Louise, and assumes they are frakkin, when it was totally innocent. So, she calls Tim a loser as he leaves, so Becky shows up later to tell him he isn't and all the good stuff he's done for her, which given the list, are they gonna do something with the two of them? It would be kinda creepy for him to start hitting that given the age difference and the fact that he has effed her mom in the past.

So, Luke's whole "playing through" his injury causes him to get very injured during a game and out for the season. Which in turn causes Coach to stay out late drinking with Buddy while Tami continues to worry about the abortion fallout.

Matt does finally call Julie, and its as awkward as you expect. And Vince, who's back to a life of crime to pay off the money he borrowed to put his mom in rehab, sees his best friend gunned down as they tried to collect money from the sale of the illegal parts they've been selling. So, he shows up on Jess' doorstep at the end. But it seems like Jess and Landry are fine for now, even though dinner with his parents was quite awkward.

Legend of the Seeker- Well, that was one big tease! When I saw an episode description a month or two ago, it said "Cara's feelings for the Seeker deepen", which I thought back then was them signaling a Cara/Richard/Kahlan love triangle. But then they got that new seeker dude last week, and I remembered the ep description for this week, and I realized, "dang, they meant this guy!" Who's now dead saving Kahlan. Aw, poor Cara, she finally opens up to a guy and finds love, and he gets burned to a crisp.
