geebsJust taking a mental health day today since I didn't have anything pressing on my plate.
TV Commentary:
The Office- I think some of the disrespect Jim's been getting in his new position he brought on himself. He may be a smart, hard working guy when he deems to, but most people know him as the Office prankster, so why should they take him seriously? But I guess he remedied that. Also, I get why they might want to bring Michael to that meeting since he's an example of the Company's few successes, but surely David Wallace would've realized what a disaster he would be bringing?!
Supernatural- Finally caught up on this. "Changing Channels" and "The Real Ghostbusters" from two weeks ago and last week were pretty hysterical, but I do enjoy despite the levity, they still manage to fit in development and backstory to the main Lucifer rising plot for what you would think are filler eps. I mean, the true identity of the Trickster in "Changing Channels", and then Becky the Wincesting fangirl revealing that important piece of info about Crowley, not Lilith having the Colt? And I don't know why they got mad about Chuck not remembering. Did they ask him if he knew where the Colt was? Do they think he was gonna remember that one plot point out of four seasons worth of books, even if he was the one who wrote them? (And heh, I just realized, was that a inside joke about how fans like Becky seem to know more about continuity than the actual writers like Chuck?)
Of course, I did find it silly they didn't realize the kids were the actual monsters and the evil schoolmarm was holding them back. They even had a case like that, I think it was the auction house one with that one hottie from Summerland. Whenever you have a creepy old dude or chick haunting a place, and they had killed some little child and both ghosts are appearing, its the little kid ghost who's the one to be really afraid of, and the murderer ghost is the one keeping them in check!
The one last night was more serious. And the developments in it made me so mad!! But hey, we not only get the return of Jo and Ellen, but Meg. Why can't this show have female regulars? Its always a huge sausage fest, no wonder there's so much slash fic! Glad to see Rachel Miner was back as Meg. Weird, considered she evacuated the body in the premiere? So did she just come back later once they were gone? You'd think they'd do something for the possessed so they don't get possessed again! But yeah, I've always found her strangely attractive, and I'm amused how she kinda choses to mimic Nicki Aycox's voice, its consistent for the character. I was amused how Cas used her to get out of the Angel's trap by just laying her on top of the ring and walking over her. I'm not sure that would actually work though unless she actually broke it. Otherwise demons could try to get someone close and do the same thing to get out of a devil's trap. (Or has that been done before?) I just didn't think laying stuff on top of the circles would work, which is why they were able to put it on the bottom of floorboards and rugs and wot-not.
But Crowley was played by Mark Sheppard, who is of course Romo Lampkin among other things. Is he in everything?! I did find it interesting that he wanted the Winchesters to take Lucifer out, because he's pretty sure Lucifer is taking out the humans and the demons if he wins. Actually, I assume to win he has to take out all the other angels, so what the hell would be left then?!
WTF though! They killed Jo and Ellen, those bastards! And Dean never got to nail her! Though it was odd for him to make the "Last night on Earth" play. One, wasn't Ellen right there, like wasn't he worried she would hear and put him through a window? And even if he managed to talk Jo into it, where could they really go? I mean, again, Ellen would prolly wonder where they were, and she's no fool, she'd kick the crap out of Dean because I'm sure she'd figure out if Dean banged her baby girl. (Actually, is Jo a virgin? I mean, her mom's kinda intimidating, I can't imagine she'd get many suitors even though she's pretty hot. What a waste!)
Owel, good thing Ellen did stay behind, since Jo died in her arms and thus wouldn't have been able to blow up the place. Though I guess she would've fought to stay up had her mom not been there, but being in the comforting arms of Ellen she could let go. And I don't fault Ellen for staying. I mean, what's left for her now? Her husband's been dead for years, and I really doubt she wanted to outlive her daughter.
That sux they gave their lives for nothing, since the Colt didn't work on Lucifer. (He's one of the five things on Earth the Colt doesn't work on, though does he mean himself specifically, or angels in general, because as people have said, he's not a demon, he's a fallen angel. But what are the other four things then?) I am amused that everyone was all "Don't miss!" and they didn't, it just didn't work. Actually, I liked Crowley's version best, because when the Winchesters did the whole "Aren't you worried he'll find out you betrayed him?" Well, he's friggin betting you win, so he's not thinking about what'll happen if you fail!
But Death is raised, interesting. So if War's horse was a red mustang, will Death have some cool pale colored muscle car as well?
Friday Night Lights- Woah, that was a big surprise there at the end! I mean, as soon as the military guys knocked on the door, you knew what that meant. Poor Grandma Saracen. She may be batty at times, but she understood what it meant. And then Matt gets dropped off at the Taylors to have a talk about their problems, but she heard about his dad before he did.
Rest of the ep. Landry and Jess? Weird. I mean, it did seem like it was going that way, but that did seem pretty bold of him to just walk up to her after the rally and kiss her like that.
Heh, I am amused how utterly trashy Alicia Witt dresses as Becky's mom. I still think she's Tyra 2.0. I'm also curious if Tim is going to bang her. I'm not sure if they're setting them up to be a couple, or setting him up to be her big brother. I do find it interesting some people think its cool she's one of those Pageant chicks, because that's apparently almost as big as Football in Texas, so its surprising they haven't had such a character before.
And while I guess it does make sense for Luke to be hanging with the Panthers, it does still seem kinda weird to me. Wonder if the Lions and the Panthers will eventually face each other? And it is kinda sad to see JD turn into the douche people initially thought he was. At least last year, when he was this earnest kid under the thumb of a psychopath, he looked dorky and out of place. Now he just looks like a douche you wanna punch.
I do hope things turn around soon for the Taylors. Its sad to see Tami as the most hated person in Dillon (or at least West Dillon!) and the Coach having to beg and plead for every little thing. But glad to see Buddy's fully with them now, and its actually making a difference.
Forgot to mention the gay bar thing! So overly enthusiastic assistant coach is gay? But Julie finds out, and he's so closeted that when Julie's all "I'll never speak of this" he denies they even bumped into each other.
So Julie isn't Devin's type? cliffV('What's up with that?!') She doesn't like cute jailbait looking blonds with big boobs?! Apparently her type is plain looking brunettes like herself? Is she trying to be all Black Dahlia and "I though it would be interesting to sleep with someone who looked like me"? And seriously, if Devin and Julie are sitting together, I highly doubt Devin's the one they'd be paying attention to. I mean, she's not ugly, she fits into "geebs cute", though that's not a hard category to get into. I mean, people would most likely guess she was a lesbian, but how do they know Jules isn't one also? Its like how do they know they're not together? That's kinda rude to be staring then.
