Went to Ippolito's for dinner for the first time in like years- its the same route to get from the house to the Roaster's on Roswell road, except one turns left at one point instead of following that one road down onto Roswell road, because that other street also intersects Roswell, but where Ipp's is. It was good as usual, though its weird how the place still looks the same.
Heh, before we left, I had heard the roomie watching "Modern Family" on his computer. Warming Glow had stated that Wednesday night's ep cemented itself as being the best new sitcom of the season over "Community", so that piqued the roomie's interest. The eldest daughter on the show is played by Sarah Hyland who I think
clevemire once said looks like Mila Kunis' jailbait little sister. But ha, when the roomie first started watching he thought she was like 12 or something, then was all shocked that she was 15 on the show. Then he was even more shocked when I told him she was totally legal.
TV Commentary:
Flashforward- you know, this show has potential, but I don't think its really realized it yet. I mean, there have been interesting developments. Like Courtney Vance being sort of friends with the pres and having blackmail info on him, which he uses to get some bitchy senator off his back. Her mentioning she was president in her flashforward, and the current prez' being woken up by a secret service detail is kinda weird. Though I guess they still call ex-presidents "Mr. President", right?
But yeah, there was a small mention of the CIA thinking the Chinese did all this, and in the end, the Feebs get attacked by Chinese assassins- chick Feeb back in LA (and it turns out she's a lesbian! Wait, was that mentioned before?) and the rest of them in DC. I'm not sure how that last scene worked with the big shootout and that one song.
The Office- People said last week's ep was the worst, but this week's was less enjoyable in my opinion. (Oh, btw, is it me, or does the upcoming Subtle Sexuality Office webisodes sound like they might be awesome?) I mean, Pam was acting bratty and overreacting a little. I mean, she's an adult, she may not like that her mom's dating again, even if its Michael (and hey, even though he's kinda a moron, he is a pretty nice guy at heart). But she and Michael having that argument like that for all the Office to see was kinda unprofessional. Not that they aren't often unprofessional in the Office.
Ah, but the thing with the pen was pretty clever. Dwight's not as stupid as we think. Yeah, he had the obvious bug in the duck, but he kinda has Jim's number, and knew Jim would let his guard down after he had his fun (or rather vented out his frustrations over the Michael/Pam argument) with the fake bug. I did find the pen part totally weird in the beginning because I was thinking, why the hell would Jim leave some pen on Dwight's desk, and Dwight getting all mad about it is petty even for Dwight.
