At Best Buy today, saw they had the latest Rock Band and Guitar Hero setups (Beatles and 5, respectively). Played Guitar Hero 5, because it had "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Bullet With Butterfly Wings", and I've always wanted to try both of those on one of these games. (How the frick is Teen Spirit not on the Nirvana track pack on Rock Band?!) Did it on guitar because the drum set didn't seem to be responding, which kinda sucks, because I would've preferred to do the drum part (even though I pretty much suck at those games except for the singing part).

Heh, caught this Glee fanvid set to Mika's "We Are Golden", which is awesome because its one of my favorite songs ever. I mean, its just one of those songs you wanna crank up and sing along and dork out to, a really feel good song to lift your spirits. You know, I only recently heard the acoustic version which is no less powerful, and I can't decide which version I prefer.

And I think I'm no longer going to say, "I know my musical tastes suck" because I don't care anymore. Why do I need to kowtow to people and feel embarrassed about the kind of music I like to the point that I preface musical discussions with that statement? If I think it sounds good and I like it, that's all that should matter. Excuse me if it differs with what you like!

And now a quick blurb on pr0n. So, you know how some vids, instead of having plot, they just do interviews with the stars and talk about the upcoming scene before heading to the action? Usually they'll ask the girls when their first time was, or if they did this or that, and if they did, when? I was watching this one last night where they ask this girl beforehand when the first time she did arnal was, and she said 12, and with a 27 year old guy. And she says it like its the most normal thing in the world. What the frickin' frick?! First, I hope that guy is in jail, because that's just ridiculous.

Secondly, I couldn't help but feel bad for her, because the poor girl never had a chance. I mean, no wonder she's doing pr0n, when some filthy pervert molested her when she was still a friggin kid! (Yes, I realize how ridiculous it is for me to call someone a filthy pervert when I'm talking about some pr0n I was watching)

You're not gonna be worried about what other people think about your musical tastes...but you're gonna care that people might find porn objectionable? Silly. Porn doesn't equal perverted by default.

Of course there's a huge difference in sex between consenting adults--even sex done on camera for money--and taking advantage of a kid (even if the kid thinks s/he knows what s/he is doing).

Um, but a lot of women who had sex way early in life (whether by choice or no) would object to your suggestion that the only thing left for them is a porn career.

I guess I didn't mean that was the only thing she could do, just that I'm not surprised she went into pr0n given the cliche that those girls are usually chicks who had absentee fathers or had some sexual thing happen to them when they're young.

Yeah musical tastes are all subjective, anyway. So you shouldn't be embarrassed by liking music that is objectively terrible.
