So that Booby Scare video starring Willow, Bones, Lyla Garrity, Goldie, and Kat Mcphee, that's kinda a random set of chyx. I mean, you have four established actresses and an American Idol chick, its like, gee, who's the odd one out there? Though I swear I thought she'd done voicework on Robot Chicken, as had Minka Kelly and Jaime King, though I can't seem to see evidence of it in their imdb credits. But if they had then the degrees of separation works out, because of Seth Green, to Buffy/Angel, which then connects to Alyson Hannigan, and then Emily Deschanel through David Boreanaz.
TV Commentary:
SVU- Okay, is it me, or was it obvious when they first saw the footage that it was going to be some other girl pretending to be the dead girl and was carrying her around in the suitcase. Its like, here's a clear picture of her face coming in, and then the video going out is, "hey, here's a brunette chick leaving! Even though you don't ever see her face, they're wearing her clothes, so it must be her!" Now, I didn't know it was going to end up being young Rousseau, but in retrospect, I guess she's the only white brunette that they had appear, so its not like it could be anyone else.
But seriously, her stabbing Will, what is that like the nth time that's happened where they let their guard down and someone ends up getting shot or stabbed or what have you? And what moron pulls the blade out so he can bleed out?! Or did he do that on purpose, in disbelief that he finally tries to make amends with his daughter, and she stabs him in the throat?
Glee- Is it ghey that one of the things I like about this show is that its conducive to singing along? Not that I do, because I think the roomie would be pissed if I did. In any case, this is the ep where we finally get their totally awesome version of Queen's "Somebody to Love". But alas, it wasn't the full version that was out on itunes, and neither was their version of Heart's "Alone" (And I say people who think power ballads are stupid, they're the ones who are stupid! They totally rock!). Though this ep definitely had more music than last week, but that's expected given Kristen Chenoweth guest starred, and they can't not utilize her. I of course got both of the aforementioned songs, but passed on "Maybe This Time" and Carrie Underwood's "Last Name", but that's because they weren't my style. But since I didn't realize they actually had full versions of Kristen Chenoweth doing "Birdhouse In Your Soul" (with Ellen Greene) and "Hopelessly Devoted to You" on the Pushing Daisies official soundtrack (which was actually done by a classmate of mine, who won an emmy for the scoring of the show), I grabbed those. Alas, its a 1st season soundtrack, so they don't have her rendition of "Eternal Flame".
But I digress. Pretty funny ep. And I guess the door is open for Kristen Chenoweth to return. So apparently, before Will started going out with Terri in HSmhe was crushing on April. They say she was the Rachel of their day, though unlike Rachel, they make it sound like she was Miss Popular. Though it seems in Will's day, the Glee club was actually respectable. But what the, during the "April winning over the Glee club kids" montage, wait, are they implying she had a gang bang with Puck and the other football guys? Well, not Finn, obviously. But isn't that stach?! Though I guess if they pursued such cases involving Puck, they'd have to arrest a whole lot of women.
Speaking of shocking, that was kinda a weird and slightly morbid joke, where Emma was telling Will about the dangers of contacting old school peeps over the internet by telling him of the time she got in touch with her friend "Andy", and then two months later Versace was dead. Though I guess that's not any different then Stewie telling OJ he thinks his wife is stepping out on him in Family Guy.
But the Finn/Rachel stuff was pretty good this ep. And angsty. As naive as they make Finn out to be, he can be quite calculating. I mean, using Rachel's crush on him to try and win her back into Glee? Kinda jerky of him, but I guess he at least felt totally guilty about it when they kissed. And not just because he was kinda cheating on his pregnant girlfriend, I think he does legitimately like Rachel, but he's also with Quinn, who's preggers. If she wasn't I think Finn might start wavering even more than he is now. But yeah, he was kinda using her because he needs that scholarship, but I think there's a part of him that's tempted to see where they're headed.
Anyways, they kiss at the bowling alley and Rachel is so happy that she finally acquiesces to Finn's begging that she come back to Glee. But then when she gets there, Puck had just dropped the preggers bomb to the rest of the club (though in a hypothetical, and he didn't reveal he's the actual father) so they tell her, and she's crushed. Lea Michele does sad face pretty well.
Which segues into my next topic. Top 5 fictional TV character crushes (revised, HS edition)
1) Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester, Gossip Girl): yes, she's played by the hot Leighton "Sweet Knees" Meester, but I totally would've gone for Blair back in high school. Though if that was the case, I prolly would've ended up using my gossip gathering abilities and two-facedness to ingratiate myself to her and become one of her minions/tools, doing nefarious things at her bidding and pathetically pining after her even though she wouldn't think of me in that way. In any case, its not just the fragile, lonely girl under the mask of the rich ice queen bitch thing. She should also be getting more play than she does, but people keep ignoring her for her "It Girl" best friend Serena. And I usually go for the not as hot, but still pretty hot friend of the girl all the guys go for rather than the girl all the guys go for herself.
2) Rachel Berry (Lea Michele, Glee): She's a Tracy Flick kinda character, which I've always been strangely attracted to. That's why I liked Taylor Townsend on the OC, even though she's prolly clinically insane. Unlike Blair, who gets overlooked because she has a supposedly hotter friend, Taylor and Rachel would get more play if they just calmed down. Although as I said, that's part of their charm for me. Anyways, people would say she's not Hollywood hot, but I think she's cute. She's got an emotive face, which is always something I've liked. Plus, she's an incredible singer, which is always a huge plus in my book.
3) Taylor Townsend (Autumn Reeser, the OC): I was almost not gonna put her on here, since she's similar to Rachel, and I was putting Summer on this list as well, and that would be two girls from the OC, but whatever. Yes, she's an insane weirdo, but she's has all these little quirks that make her wicked mad cute. It doesn't hurt that she's hot with a smoking bod that she doesn't purposely try to flaunt. Plus, she's quite experienced and supposedly a kinky animal in the sack. Not that the latter would've really mattered to me, but its a nice bonus.
4) Summer Roberts (Rachel Bilson, the OC): Unlike the other girls on this list, she doesn't really have confidence or esteem issues. She's actually kinda the nerd dream girl. Cool and popular, but she gets bonus points in my book because while that sort of thing seemed to matter to her in the beginning of the show, once she admitted her feelings for Seth publicly, going out with a geeky loser was a non-issue for her. And I've always respected the people who didn't kowtow to popular opinion and did whatever they wanted. Anyways, besides being mad cute, she's also willing to cosplay, which is always good.
5) Faith Lehane (Eliza Dushku, Buffy/Angel): Okay, she's this sexy promiscuous bad girl with a cute Southie accent. No brainer! People say she would be scary, but I like a girl who can kick total ass! But like some of the other girls on this list, her strong outer persona is just a facade to hide the lonely, miserable girl underneath. Ida know, is that a thing for me?
