TV Commentary:

Dollhouse- Interesting, I guess this season is trying to hammer in the idea of these imprints as "people" or "souls" onto themselves. I think this is reflected in both the Echo and Claire story lines this episode.

So after Claire figures out she's Whiskey last season finale, she's been messing with Topher, culminating in her trying to frak him, thinking he programmed her to hate him as part of some weird fantasy of his to break her resistance down and "win her over". His reaction shows this couldn't be farther from the truth. It turns out he did make them at odds, but for the actives sake. If they were too agreeable, they might miss something wrong, so he purposely built in that antagonistic relationship as a way of checks and balances. Though apparently, her hating him on a fundamental level is all her.

And when I say her, the "Claire" personality. Topher's freaked out reaction makes me think that some peoples' theories that they're siblings might be true. I mean, Amy Acker is mad cute, even with her "scars". Sure, she's kinda a beanpole, but I definitely would have a hard time kicking her out of bed! But his reaction seemed very, "You're my sister!" the way he jumped out of there!

Anyways, after their moment, was he implying there's a contractual obligation preventing him from trying to talk to her about her real self? In any case, the way he was all, "Don't you want to know who you really are?" and her response indicates he didn't get it and she had to explain it to him. Claire isn't Whiskey, or whoever she used to be whom Topher once knew. She's her own person, and her fear is that when whoever the real person is, once they get their body back, Claire dies.

And I think this idea is carried on in Echo. It looks like she was already having some light residual issues (like remembering an old mission with Whiskey), but when Apollo bashed her head in she started to remember past "lives". Helo saw this, and later had to beat her up and taunt her to get her to remember that training to get them out of a sticky situation.

She's starting to remember these imprints. But she's not at the point of last season where the combination of imprints made her a new person that is the sum of its parts. She still seems closer to Echo, sensing there are other personalities floating around in her head, and expressing a desire to bring them all back. I guess, in a way saving them from the "non-existence" of not being in a person.

I dunno, it seems like he was legitimately tempted for a bit. He pushes her off at first, but then she gets on top of him again, and he doesn't resist for a little bit. I suspect that rather than brother and sister, she used to be his girlfriend or something (possibly the personality that he puts in Sierra on his birthday or whatever). And doing something with her while she's not her would have to be the weirdest thing ever.

Heh, mebbe even though it was his sister, he was slightly tempted, because she is hot! Heh, but seriously, it could be that one Sierra birthday imprint like you say.
