Interesting, at Comic Con, they unveiled a new DLC for Force Unleashed. I've mentioned this before, but I rather like this new model where they release new DLC for games to get more out of them rather than having to wait for them to develop and come out with a sequel. Anyhoo, from this trailer, looks like this new DLC contains new levels, following what would have happened if the Dark Side won out in the end of Force Unleashed and Starkiller became a Sith Lord. Looks like there's duels with Old Obi Wan (The Alec Guinness version!), Luke on Hoth, and even Boba Fett!
Heh, so
clevemire was showing me a panel from this comic he was reading, "Black Summer" which was a gratuitous pic of these bad-ass chicks in leather with big guns. He was amused by the LCD-ness of it. Of course, I was sold. But the story sounds interesting enough, and its done by Warren Ellis. (Jeez, how many different titles does
phatjoe's Second Life neighbor write?!)
TV Commentary:
Torchwood- Wow, that was just a dark climax, wasn't it? Frobisher is forced to give up his children to legitimize the BS plan they came up with to give the 456 what they want and snow the public. So, instead of giving them up, he kills his family and then himself. And then to finally beat them in the end, Jack ends up sacrificing his own grandson, in front of his daughter no less. That's effed up, no wonder he runs away in the end.
At least that dick PM (he was the Prime Minsiter, right?) got his comeuppance in the end. What a frakkin prick bastard! Too bad he made two mistakes. One, don't eff over those who have been your loyalest supporters throughout the whole ordeal, and two, if you do eff them over, do look so happy and gloat about it! Though even tanking his career doesn't seem enough, they shoulda really made him hurt.
Interesting comment Gwen had about the Doctor, suspecting there are times where he doesn't fix things because he's too ashamed of humanity. Though if he was around, he prolly coulda figured a way to take the 456 out without killing Jack's grandson. And I think in this case, he's not around because he's still reeling from the events of the end of this past season of Doctor Who. I mean, he's always been proud of humanity sticking up for itself, and fighting evil and oppression even if it seems there's no hope, but I think he was quite horrified with the "Stop the Daleks, even if you have to kill everyone to do it". I think he did take Davros naming him the destroyer to heart. But then he ends up giving up Rose to the half human hybrid clone of himself, then he has to erase all of Donna's memories of their adventures together, undoing her growth into a admirable woman, so she won't end up burning out and dying. So he's prolly still working those losses out.
In any case, if there is another season, with Ianto dead now and Jack running away (though obviously he'll somehow come back to Earth if there is another season), who the hell is left to be in Torchwood with Gwen? Rhys is an everyman, and despite all the help he provided during this arc, I don't think its something he wants to do. I guess she did promise Lois a job after all this, and they could always bring Martha and Mickey back. Despite the fact that that Black Ops chick tried to kill them, she seemed pretty sympathetic to their cause at the end after seeing what the govt was doing. I guess they could bring her in, she could be the team's head-buster.
Heh, so
