TV commentary:

Lost- For some reason, the whole Widimore as Daniel's dad wasn't a big deal. But dammit, once Faraday again brought up the whole "any of us can die" thing, I was getting antsy because I had a feeling someone was gonna die soon. But then once Eloise was all, "don't tell me about sacrifice!" I was all, "I guess its Dan then".

He kinda brought it on himself thought. What was he thinking, marching into the Others' camp waving a gun around like that!? When Richard was all Eloise wasn't there, I kept thinking, "Its because she's sneaking up behind you to kill your ass!"

I'm not so sure about Daniel's plan about blowing up the energy though. I'm guessing Jack or Kate might be wanting to follow through with the plan. Well, prolly just Jack. The recaplet reminded me of something- if they did stop everything from happening, and 815 just goes on its merry way, doesn't that mean Kate will be heading straight to jail? I dunno, mebbe she's fine with it for the "greater good". Well, I guess some people don't end up dying if this happens (Shannon and Boone, Charlotte, Ana Lucia, Libby, Eko, Steve or Scott, Arzt, Frogurt, Alex, Karl, Rousseau, Michael, etc) but is it a greater good? Sun and Jin never get back together, Locke will still be a cripple, Rose will still have cancer, lots of people don't get closure on their personal problems etc. I'm not sure one outcome is necessarily better than the other!

Dan was all he forgot to account for the variables, but I'm thinking he still can't change things. Because if stuff that already happened happened includes his attempt to change the future by going to the Others camp to try and nuke the Swan (since Eloise knows she killed Daniel) then the attempt must fail, right? I mean, he didn't know until the very end that his mother was sending him to his death. But from a series standpoint, I don't think they can make a significant change.

L&O- Mebbe someone who knows the law better than I can shed some light on this. But last night's ep had me confused. So these punks put an illegal immigrant in a coma, and kill someone they thought was an illegal immigrant. They don't get convicted on the murder charge because there's not enough evidence, but they are convicted of the assault. Since the illegal was brain dead, his mother took him off life support, so he dies.

And then Mccoy was all, okay, prep for the murder case. Can they do that? I mean, wouldn't that mean they are being tried twice for the same crime? I would think it would either be double jeopardy, or the charges would automagically be tacked on since they were already found guilty and there's no need for another trial? They did talk like it was a guaranteed conviction because they were already found guilty of the assault. Or is it something like, when someone is beaten to death, the assailants are still being charged for all the crimes that took place, and that would be both assault and murder. And since they hadn't charged them with murder yet, they can try them later?

I think he's completely wrong about variables, because everything he did to try to change things was stuff that did already happen, right? Like telling Charlotte she has to leave, or getting shot by his mother.

And on L&O, I went back and double checked, they did charge them with attempted murder on Oswaldo in addition to assault, and they were found not guilty of the attempted murder. So it seems like they could charge them with manslaughter, under the idea that they weren't trying to murder him but just assault him and accidentally killed him. But murder implies intent, doesn't it? If they've already been cleared by a jury of attempting to murder the guy, how can he then be tried for murdering him?
