Half my kingdom then

TV commentary:
Kings- So this new Kings show is intriguing. The world they've built for this show is interesting, though I have to call shinanegans on Shiloh. In the beginning of the ep, Ian Mcshane talks about how the place used to be a bombed out city, but the city we see now is a beautiful metropolis. (Between this and Caprica City, I kinda miss the coolness that is the capital of the world, NYC) Maybe things work differently there than in the real world, because I'm skeptical you can turn a leveled city into that! I guess it is a monarchy, so mebbe the construction folks don't drag their feet in this world.
But anyways, I guess it looks like NYC because its filmed there. I was wondring about that, because I didn't realize the prince was gonna be that guy from the Covenant who played the L&O version of the DC sniper as well as Carter Baizen on Gossip Girl. But I had heard Carter was gonna feature in upcoming eps, and I'd seen pics of him and real life gf Leighton Meester out and about in NYC, and if both are in shows filmed in NYC, that makes sense.
Speaking of, looks like there's two princesses! HA! I figured they were going for the gay thing when he was back in Shiloh acting all Sebastian Valmont from CI/Chuck Bass but then was eyeing some dude while he was making out with some club hottie. I was thinking they'd draw the secret out though. But I guess not.
Oh, and the king can secretly assassinate someone who pissed him off, but he doesn't have someone who can take out that that guy guy who's head of the Crossgen company? But I guess its prolly not just that guy, its the corporation in general that wants the war to continue? So have a "Gath terrorist" blow them all up or something! If he did hook up with them to fund his rise to power, he should know they were gonna try and make him his puppet. That's why the first thing you do in sitches like that is get a cadre of loyal followers who you can get to secretly get rid of the guys trying to pull your strings. Wait, is the Crossgen guy his brother-in-law? They mentioned something about Silas marrying into the company's money. Then it makes even less sense that he wouldn't smoke the guy for his audacity. Its like "Darn, a Gath assassin killed him? Oh, I guess my wife gets the company now, which means I get it".
I dunno, it just makes me mad because the Crossgen guy was being unreasonable. They had already signed a treaty, and he's all, "Make the war happen". How the hell is he supposed to do that without looking like an a-hole? The public prolly wouldn't support such a "bad guy" move. He coulda at least given him a few days to set up an "incident" that would enflame the people to war. And is it disturbing that I'm so blase about a government taking action to lie to its people?
But speaking of the war, I'm not sure that sequence where David rescues the prince really makes sense. Wasn't it a whole wall of tanks? Yeah, after he distracted the one tank, shouldn't the other 20 have cut him to bits? Why would they only send the one?
Owel, he does, and hey, he's well on his way to getting into the princess' pants. She's pretty cute, though I guess you'd want to be careful, because her father is scary as hell.
I guess I could never be king though. Like if a bunch of butterflies flew towards my head like that to form a crown, I would freak the geek out!
