Saw Watchmen with the usual suspects today. I enjoyed it, though it is a bit lengthy. But the soundtrack was pretty cool. And I don't think you had to have read the graphic novel to understand it, though I wanna saw some of the opening credits montage might be a little confusing if you hadn't. The fights were pretty brutal too. Like some things that didn't even take up more than a few panels in the book were a little more drawn out, but I would think they would have to spice it up for the big screen. Heh, and while Patrick Wilson wasn't as paunchy as the novel Nite Owl II, he was appropriately nerdy. Truthfully, I don't mind the change in the ending. I mean, I think psychic space squid might come off as a little goofy on the big screen. But the end effect is the same, the world uniting against a common threat. So instead of it being a space invasion, the threat is Dr. Manhattan himself, punishing the Earth.
Rorschach was pretty awesome, and the Comedian was a real bastard, though he did have a couple of funny (well, in a dark humor kinda way) moments. I dunno, I guess seeing him in live action, he comes off as more of a monster than I remember, though I guess they did make his attempted rape of Sally Jupiter more brutal than the book. And I forgot how pervy Doctor Manhattan comes off. I mean, hooking up with jailbait, almost engaging in a devil's threesome (while I never think such things are gay anyways, I think is totally less gay if you are also the other guy)
TV Commentary:
Degrassi- So did the actress playing Anya hit a growth spurt or something? I don't recall her being that much taller than Holly J. But at the end, when Alli sees Holly J, and they show her with that brunette, I was wondering, "who is that giantess she's talking to?!" But it was Anya. And wow, I guess we've never seen Peter's dad before, but now wonder Mrs. H divorced him. I mean, what a total A-hole. He doesn't see Peter for months, and the first time he sees him is to ask if he could baby sit his half sister since he's busy. And then when Peter gets mad, he was gonna leave her with the secretary?! Yeah, that girl is gonna grow up with issues. But heh, I get Peter was frustrated, but I guess he forgot he was dating a teenage mother who might take offense at some of his comments?!

This week's ep of Sarah Connor Chronicles was less boring than the last few. So interesting, Jesse's plan was not to get Riley to seduce John away from Cameron, but get John attached to her and trick Cameron to kill her so John will get all pissed at her? But Jesse ends up killing Riley. I'm guessing she'll find some way to frame Cameron, but will John believe that? I mean, Cameron said she was busy building that self destruct device, and I don't think she would have time to do both.
And I wonder how long until Jesse gets found out. Sarah's seen her now, disguised as the guidance counselor, so if she does ever spring up again, Sarah would know something's up.

On Dollhouse, what the hell did they program Alpha with that he has the skills to figure out how to remotely wipe soemone? And is it me, or did Sierra look less weird, nay, pretty cute this ep? And heh, Helo put a bolo out on Lubov, so even if they disappear Lubov, I guess that means, it'll be really hard to use him since if he's out and about wherever, there's a chance the Feds will try to arrest him?
And what the hell was with that mid-wife job Echo had in the beginning? I guess the show is trying to show its not all whores or some highly skilled specialist job (no offense to midwives, but I would say its easier than say, a safe-cracker or bad-ass assassin), but really, that seems like a gross waste of money. I mean, they imply 6 to 7 figure price tags, and you're gonna spend that just to get a midwife?!

On FNL, okay, that Street storyline was kinda schmaltzy, but whatever! If you weren't touched, you're a robot! Like the whole somehow getting the sports agent job was a little unrealistic, but the end, when he shows up on his baby's mama's doorstep and telling her he got a job, and how he'd love for them to live together happily ever after, but if she doesn't feel the same way, he'll still be close by, not in a stalker kinda way, but so he can see his son? And its made all the more emotional to see Tim watching. He's so encouraging throughout the ep, and he's really happy for Jason in the end, but he's also sad because it means his best friend will be so far away.
And argh, Cash is all, "I'll try my best to be faithful" while he's out on the road. But instead of Tyra being all, "effin' a-hole" she ups and leaves with him?! How can she be so retarded!? I thought she didn't want to be her mom or sister?!
Interesting, Saracen wants to change to wide receiver so at least he'll get to play. But Coach doesn't want him to possibly get injured, b/c if he gets injured and JD gets injured, they're screwed. But Julie tells Matt to persist, and finally it looks like Coach might just play him as a receiver next game.
Oh, and Katie Mccoy shows Tami the "perfect house" and she and Coach get into an argument over it. They still don't end up getting it in the end, but Coach did what Tami wanted, to at least give it a long and serious consideration. And he did, but he looks so sad and earnest when he tells her he would love to let her have this house, but he just doesn't think they can do it, and if they do, he'll go nuts with worry.

On BSG, the damage to Galactica is finally too much with a hull breech that kills a bunch of humans and cylons, and there's talk of making the base star the new flagship. Heh, it was kinda hysterical to have the Captains' Quorum bitch about it. Sonja give a speech, and they kinda let it go... only to start in on how they're gonna cannibalize Galactica for parts. HA! Needless to say, that's not how Lee wanted the attention off the cylons. But after some hemming and hawing, Bill finally decides his girl is done for, and gives the go ahead to abandon ship and salvage what they can. Heh, so it kinda makes up for what Cain did when she cannibalized those fleet ships for spare parts for Pegasus, with Galactica about to be taken apart for parts for other ships.
Interesting, so the cylons, in an attempt to fix Anders, put him in one of those hybrid tubs, but he interacts with the special organic resin they just applied to Galatica, and he's becoming a hybrid brain to Galactica. I wonder if that will come into play in the final eps, where I assume they're going to find the Colony ship and go after it.
But we actually see the Colony ship. Its pretty big, and it even has the old style Raiders. But yeah, after Boomer babysits Hera for hours on the way to the Colony, they end up bonding when they find out Hera can project as well. So when Boomer gives Hera up to Cavil Hera actually cries for Boomer.
Oh, and Starbuck's taking a wizz while Baltar shaves, and she reveals the dog tags to him and asks him to check the blood on it. He determines the blood to be human, and during the memorial for the cylons and humans who died from the hull breech, he outs Starbuck. He's all, "Angels are among us" and talks about how she found her dead body on Earth, but she's not a cylon. She slaps him, but I think she does find it a relief to have it all out in the open, especially with Lee being very accepting of it.
