Maybe just half a drink more
Nov. 28th, 2008 03:27 pmOwel, been up in the NYC since Tuesday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Good eating, this Thanksgiving, as usual.
We always have such an odd menu- I think the only traditional stuff is the turkey and the honey baked ham. But the rest of it- a salmon, some traditional flip dishes like lumpia and pancit and some won-tonish soup that I don't know the name of, friggin lobsters(!), and it wasn't out yet when I filmed this, but there was lasagna also.
Just a short post meal vid. My pops wanted to play around with my camera, so he was shooting random vids.
Today dropped off
isabel79 and
7500centfish at JFK for their big trip, then hit the mall. The Best Buy had a demo set up for Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. Its too bad the only thing I can do in those games decently is the vocals, but it would be kinda odd if I started singing in the middle of the store. And I wasn't with anyone else who could play the instruments, otherwise I woulda done it. Its too bad none of the usual people I hang with are into such games. Of course, the one time
phatjoe brought over Rock Band for some get together, I had to head down to Hilton Head.
Even though there are a lot of shared tracks between Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2 (Like Livin' on a Prayer!), I'm not sure which I think has the better playlist. I mean, GHWT has Pat Benatar's "Heartbreaker", Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way", and "The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band, but RB2 has "Carry on Wayward Son" by Kansas, and Paramore's "That's What You Get".
Speaking of similar video games, me brudder,
sparkyboy got Saints Row 2 for his 360, so he's been playing with that. The graphics aren't as good as GTA4, but it does have some cool features of its own. I like the customizability of your character. Unlike San Andreas, where you had some leeway in your look, here you could be any race/gender/sexuality. I also like the ability to grab people and use them as shields, or throw them off balconys or into helicopter rotors. And unlike the chopper in the GTA series, the rockets have lock on capabilities. Some good songs on the soundtrack too. Like Sister Christian! Awesome.
Anyhoo, as I was wandering the mall, saw some HS cheerleaders had a set up where they wrapped gifts to raise funds for new cheerleading uniforms or whatever. But that made me think of a surefire way they could boost sales (is it still called sales if they're doing it for donations?) Instead if a bikini car wash, bikini gift wrap! They could wear winter themed swimsuits, like maybe a gift ribbon in the middle of the front of their top or the back of their bottom, santa hats or ear muffs or scarves, or ski boots!
