faith and desire at the swing of your hips
Sep. 8th, 2008 07:52 pm(EDIT: How the hell did I accidentally write fate there initally, I know that's not right!)
Taco Bell's Volcano taco isn't that hot!
Owel, this morning, got an oil change, did some laundry, and then cooked myself some Steak-Umm for lunch. Finally got around to watching Midori Days today as well. Its still one of the more insane concepts for an anime series, but its still a hilarious and endearing show, I think. Only got around to the first disc so far. For some reason, one of the most hilarious things I found was when they were wondering how he "hurt his hand", and they go into this imagination sequence where he punches through a car trying to run him down, shredding it and knocking out the yakuza driver. I'm also amused how he really isn't a troublemaking delinquent, but he will play it up when it suits him.
Of course, there are a few non-sensical things that only seem to be done to set up a comical joke. Like why the hell isn't Midori's comatose form wearing anything, other than so her family will think Seiji's some kinda pervert!? And when the mad cute Descartes Sisters tried to ambush him, why the hell did that one girl put a mask on before she tried hitting him?! Its not like he doesn't know what she looks like! And its not like there are any other witnesses that she has to disguise herself anyways.
And what's with all the people trying to beat him up anyways? Who knew Japan was such a violent place! And is it me, or is there a surprising amount of breastage being shown!?
Oh, and what's with the dude with the puppet fetish, they give him that kinda "evil dandy" voice because in anime, homosexuals are evil weirdos. Well, I guess he's not gay, but he is kinda a freak. Could he sound any more serial killer-ish when he was talking about why he liked his dolls? Seiji is right to beat him up!
