Thursday night TV commentary:
As much as I like the idea of rich people secret societies doing global conspiracy type things, the whole Queens/Luthors/Teagues/Swanns having a secret group that we didn't know about until now is a little silly. And apparently they're claiming Lex just forgot a lot of this stuff, only he didn't remember until he got shot in the head? Hasn't he had a jillion near death experiences (and just as many damaging head injuries?) before?
But Lana is a zombie now, and Braniac has Kara, but Chloe and Clark are unwilling to trust Lionel even though it seems like he is actually trying to be a good guy. Is it me, or are they setting it up for Lionel to die redeeming himself? I guess they're trying to get rid of all the old folks?
And what's with Allison Mack and Kristin Kreuk doing the vlogging thing?
A kinda less fun-time Reaper this week. I mean, they've had Sock and Ben get injured before, and they usually treat it with levity. But this week, with Andi getting hospitalized, Sam's starting to freak out about putting them in danger. Which has always been my #1 annoyance about people trying to be the hero, when they push everyone away because they're afraid of them getting hurt. Like they often say, its their own choice if they wanna be in danger. Plus its not like the bad guy will be all, "Oh, he pushed them away, so I won't try to get to the hero through them!" I think they're still in danger just for knowing you, whether you still associate with them or not. Ida know, to me it seems like the hero's trying to be all, "Oh, look at me, my life sucks so much because I have to push away everyone!" You don't have to be that much of a martyr!
And weird, the description of the ep said the soul was being played by that Emmanuelle Vaugier chick (i.e. Lex's ex-wife, Jake's baby's mama on OTH, various other shows), but it was actually being played by that chick from Eureka.
And new development, apparently the whole devil talking to Sam thing is actually pretty unique, if Michael Ian Black is to believed. So other Reapers don't have the devil coming to them to chat? I've been hearing a theory being thrown around that Sam is actually the devil's son. I mean, I suspected that all the weirdness with Cady that made him think she was demonic was actually him doing that stuff. There's definitely something hincky going on with the contract that we don't know about. Wonder if they'll ever have him look in the mirror with those glasses as well?
But the State guys mysteriously mentioning wanting to fight the devil? Ida know if I'd trust them. I don't think it would be far fetched for them to actually be just performing an elaborate ruse. After all, they are friendly with people still work with the Devil, like Gladys. And the worst thing the Devil has to say about them is that "they're bureaucrats"? I think its a trick. And even if its not, it is pretty dangerous to go against the devil.

And the top 10:
10) Spaced (well, it is a British magazine, but how hilarious is the cover of the "definitive collector's edition"? It makes it look like its some kinda cool action series. Though it being the best British series ever in their opinion? Weird!)
9) X-files
8) The Wire
7) Friends
6) 24- One of the most over-rated shows, ever. I mean, I guess first season, the concept seemed "refreshing" and "innovative", but the later seasons aren't actually all that great, compared to other shows out there.
5) Lost
4) West Wing
3) Sopranos
2) Buffy
1) Simpsons- Simpsons as the best show ever?! Really?!
- This article off drunkenstepfather. As he says, the vid is indeed creepy. Its like out of a scene from SVU or one of those other crime procedurals, were they find the girl was putting naughty things up on the internet shortly before she went missing. Heh, though some of the creepiness might be because a crime procedural came on the TV in the background, and the creepy music from it synched up with the "sex offender about to attack and kill his victim" vibe there at the end.
- Another video, which is also creepy but in a different way, a bunch of different re-enactments of some obscure Full House scene where DJ gets mad at Uncle Joey and being all "You're not my father!". I don't get it!
- Not a creepy video, a youtube chick doing an acoustic version of Nickelback's "Savin' Me". Hey, I think its a hard song to do, so kudos to her. You don't want to hear me trying to sing the song.
- At dinner, the roomie expressed disbelief that I don't read the webcomic Questionable Content, as it seems like that kinda emo/romantic comedy/young adult drama stuff that's right up my alley. So, started reading through those.
- I posted about Dead Fantasy II the other day:
But its finally been uploaded in HD! (And holy crap, it looks frickin' amazing in HD!)
And woah, has Lethal Weapon always been kinda homophobic? I mean, there's the scene when the house blows up, and Riggs' jacket catches fire, and Murtagh tries to pat it out, and Riggs is all, "What are you, a fag?" Then there was the scene where they talk about how the dead girl in the beginning was with another chick before she died, and Riggs is all, "disgusting!" Thinking HLA is disgusting. cliffV('What's up with that?!')
