Saturday night TV commentary:

Okay, a hilarious ep of Torchwood tonight. Its Gwen's wedding, unfortunately, she gets bitten by an alien shapeshifter that causes her to end up getting impregnated and look totally preggers when she walks down the aisle, causing hilarity to ensue. What's with her friends though?! Bunch of perverts!
And they're chicks!

I'm still not seeing the whole unspoken Gwen-Jack thing. I mean, it always seems forced to me, like the show is all "See, Gwen and Jack have a connection!" Rhys is definitely the most understanding guy out there though! Heh, him doing the chainsaw thing against the female shapeshifter taking on the form of his mum was pretty funny. But then Jack blasts it with the super gun and Gwen runs into his arms? stv('How rude!')

Other funny parts? Ianto getting a new dress for Gwen and the bridal shop owner is all, "Don't worry, we get plenty of men in here buying a wedding dress for their friend."

I also figured they'd end up giving retcon to all the guests. Jack offered it to Gwen and Rhys, but they didn't want to take it because there'll be no secrets between them. Heh, did she ever re-tell him she slept with Owen? He's all worried about Jack, but she was effin around with Owen for a long while. I guess she told him that once, and she gave him retcon.

And wow, Tosh can be a bitch to guys hitting on her who she is not interested in! Ah, and I guess as Owen gets more injured, he'll lose more dexterity? Looks like he can't use his left hand as well as he used to since he stupidly broke the fingers on it trying to turn Tosh off last ep.

And now for the possibly gheyist list I've ever posted, top 5 (well, 4 cause I can't think of a fifth right now) favorite poignant musical scenes from movies, in no particular order:

1) Mandy Moore singing "Only Hope" at the school play in A Walk to Remember:

Beautiful girl singing a beautiful song. slv('Nuff said!')

2) The end scene of Across the Universe, when Jude starts singing "All You Need is Love":

My favorite part? When Jude and Lucy see each other across the rooftops, and the background chorus is all "She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah!"

3) Tom Collins doing the reprise of "I'll Cover You" at Angel's funeral:

When Det. Green starts belting it out, and everyone joins in doing a kinda rendition of "Seasons of Love" for the background chorus? Awesome!

4) The "So Close" Enchanted ballroom scene:

What really sells it? The looks on Giselle's face as they dance, all conflicted emotions, particularly when Robert starts singing along to the song (and he never sings or dances!)

And now onto some SW2 talk. Started on Kojiro Sasaki's story mode, once I beat that, I can get his 4th weapon, which I'm hoping is ice element, since ice suits his move set well. His storyline is all about his rivalry with Musashi, and its interesting to play Sekigahara from his point of view. Storywise, he's like the evil psycho ultimate bad-ass working for the Tokugawa simply because Musashi aligned himself with the other side.

After playing Sasaki and Toshiee, gonna go with Gracia next. Her normal attacks are nothing to write home about, but her special attacks are ungodly, or so I here. I hear Katsuie is pretty good as well, they changed him to twin axes from the spear. I'm curious if his moveset is similar to Pang De's from DW5? Twin picks, twin axes, same diff. I'm not looking forwarded to playing that painted queen Yoshimoto. Damn me and wanting to get everything complete!

So for some reason we left the TV on TNT all day yesterday, I was mostly reading so I didn't pay much attention, but A Walk to Remember was on, and every time I looked over there it looked cheap. Like low production value, tv movie budget kinda cheap. I kept expecting Tori Spelling to show up.

Its not like its frickin' Lord of the Rings or Star Wars, its about a couple of kids from a small town! Though I recently learned it was filmed in Wilmington, NC, where DC and OTH are filmed, so mebbe the area just looks TV-movie ish.

I know it's not a $100 million budget kinda thing, but it actually looks cheaper than DC. And probably OTH too, but I haven't seen more than 5 minutes of that. It's like a set dressing, score, cinematography/direction thing.
