hateful little man
Jun. 5th, 2002 08:06 amMore things ah can't stand:
1) People who park illegally in the parking complex. I almost hit someone today because a bunch of retards parked their cars where they're not supposed to and I couldn't see beyond them. I slowly edged up and almost thought it was clear but next thing I know, this car comes out of nowhere! Look, I can understand some people come home real late at night after partying and can't find a parking space. They're tired or drunk, and I can understand that. But a lot of these people are just lazy! Its like, there are tons of open parking spaces close to them. But they're too good to walk 20 or so feet. They park right in front of their door. I mean, what the hell? They can't be expected to walk fifteen feet!? Such arrogance. And it blocks the flow of traffic. I mean, why would you risk you car getting scratched up because other drivers are having trouble getting past it just because you can't walk a few extra feet.
2) People who don't own up to their traffic mistakes. I mean, what's up with people who are in the wrong lane and realize it too late? And instead of owning up to it and just going with the flow and turning around when they have a chance, they insist on changing lanes akwardly right there and blocking everyone else off! I mean, talk about a piece of trash who only thinks of themself! Instead of making it a little inconvenient for themselves, they decide to make it inconvenient for everyone else. And its doubly annoying when the person is also on a cellphone at the same time. Hey, I got nothing against cellphones. I think everyone should have one, to make contacting easier. But using them while you're driving is just plain stupid.
And I think these peeves are way more peevy than Holli's "using turn signals in parking lots or other sitches where you can do nothing but turn in one direction". I mean really, a blinking turn signal doesn't hurt anybody! Well, mebbe an epileptic. Anyways, I think they above both boil down to the same thing: hubris. That's what I keep saying is the problem with this world. Everyone thinks they're so damn great. Always thinking of themselves. Yeah, at times, I do think of myself first. But I'm a hypocrite. Indeed, my hypocrisy knows no bounds. But do as I say, not as I do!
