Owel, schedule change started Sunday, so I'm up late flipping my sleep schedule to work nights. Kinda sucks since I'll have to flip it back again in a week when I head up to NYC for Christmas. Just flipping the Girls of Stare on Mojo HD, Pulp Fiction, and the Departed.
Caught the series finale of Extras tonight. Hey, I thought this show was supposed to be a comedy!? Well, it had some pretty funny moments, but it was also kinda awkward and depressing at times. I mean, Andy turning into kinda a prick, then trying to make a stand for integrity, and then when that didn't work out and his new agent told him, he can either be one of those artists who don't compromise, or he can be rich and famous, and he chose famosity? Though it was the scenes with Maggie that really killed. Its interesting to see she did take a stand for integrity after Clive Owen was such an asshole. I know the celebs here are supposed to act ridiculous, but I dunno, Clive was just mean. And even though it meant she had to move to a shitty apartment and become a cleaning lady, she stuck with it. So it sucked when Andy was an oblivious asshole and wrapped up in his own shit.
And I don't know anything about Celebrity Big Brother, but I'm assuming that was a huge exaggeration and they don't really have people on who are only famous because their child got murdered and were thus in the media a lot, because that's just sick and macabre. But I'll admit, I did get kinda misty when Andy got his head out of his ass and apologized to Maggie and answered her penguin/flying fish question. All in all, an interesting end to the series, so he just says fuck fame and goes to "where the wind blows".
Tried the demo for Heavenly Sword, which is way too short. Also played the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune demo. Its pretty cool. Its odd that the protagonist is supposed to be a Joe Everyman, and he does play the fool at points during the opening cutscene, but they also make him out to be absurdly competent at fighting. It seems like Tomb Raider, but with a guy. I like the combat system and the control set up, they're both pretty straightforward. Its easy to aim and dodge, and I like the cover system. You don't have a heatlh bar. Well, there's kinda a health bar that you don't see, but its done like Gears of War, where you can only take so many hits. And rather than having to scout for health packs, your health recharges if you're out of harm's way for long enough. All in all, it feels like a pretty good game.
